iOS 11.4.1 update is LIVE – today’s controversial iPhone upgrade blocks police from hacking your handset
APPLE has finally closed a security loophole that lets police crack into iPhones without a password. It's all thanks to today's iOS 11.4.1 update, which makes a controversial update to how your iPhone charging port works. The update means police will no longer be able to use expensive hacking devices to hoover up info from locked handsets using the Lightning port on the bottom of iPhones. Right now, police can buy (and have already bought) "cracking" boxes that plug into the Lightning port. Given enough time, these boxes will unscramble your iPhone – which is normally locked and encrypted – giving police access to your info. But Apple's latest update shuts off the data transfer function of Lightning ports just one hour after an iPhone was locked. This is bad news for police. Unless law enforcement officials can get their hands on an iPhone within an hour of it being locked, they're stuck. For normal users, it means you won't be able to transfer data to a PC or Mac using a … [Read more...] about iOS 11.4.1 update is LIVE – today’s controversial iPhone upgrade blocks police from hacking your handset

Finally, today’s update added the ability to report players in Fortnite’s Save the World mode. Epic Games didn’t release a detailed list of notes, only just highlighting these three items on Twitter. As for this week’s 4.4 patch, it introduced the Thermal Scope Assault Rifle, a new soccer stadium, and of course brought back the 50v50 and Sniper Shootout modes. In case you missed it, Fortnite Battle Royale is now available on Nintendo Switch. Switch players can play with their friends on mobile, as well as PC, and Xbox One. Destiny 2 hotfix 1.1.4.1 is live alongside the Weekly Reset
The promised hotfix for Destiny 2 is live, which knocks the Rumble player count down from eight to six. Destiny 2 hotfix 1.1.4.1 was applied to the game during downtime today alongside the Weekly Reset. As reported last week, Rumble will now feature 6-player free-for-all instead of eight, as it was previously. Players felt Rumble was a bit crowded, and Bungie apparently listened.
