Those attending EGX 2018 in September will have plenty of games to try out. By plenty, we mean tons really. EGX 2018 kicks off in three weeks, and we have a preliminary list of titles attendees will be able play at the event. The event takes place in Birmingham and it is a major UK gaming event put on by Gamer Network. It takes place September 20-23, and you can buy tickets here. We’ve already told you Metro Exodus will be playable, but so will: Destiny 2: Forsaken, Life is Strange 2, Spider-Man, Soulcalibur 6, Strange Brigade, and plenty more. Sega has officially announced another iteration of a mini console based on the Genesis/Mega Drive. While it is still made in conjunction with ATGames, it seems Sega is taking more involvement in this model, and ATGames has noted that they are switching to a more accurate emulator. With that in mind, here are a few games we’d like to see on this new mini console: Castlevania: Bloodlines (AKA Castlevania: The New Generation in PAL regions, Vampire Killer in Japan) For some inexplicable reason, Konami has never re-released Bloodlines. Even Rondo of Blood, made for the relatively low-key PC Engine/TurboGrafx-16, saw a port to the Wii’s Virtual Console and the PSP as an extra in Dracula X Chronicles. A direct sequel, Portrait of Ruin, was made for the DS with no rerelease or in-game unlockable. Just last month, the video game peripheral manufactuer Hyperkin officially announced the release window for the long-awaited revival of the Xbox’s original “The Duke” controller for Microsoft’s Xbox One console. Now, with the controller’s availability on the horizon, The Duke just went up for pre-order through the retailer GameStop, with the peripheral set for launch on April 1, 2018. According to the listing for The Duke on GameStop’s site, the Xbox One peripheral will set nostalgic players back $70 in order to get their hands around Hyperkin’s incredibly large re-release of the original Xbox controller. The design is basically the same as the original Duke, but this time around, the Xbox “jewel” in the center is actually an OLED screen, which will act as the home button and will play the very first Xbox’s boot screen animation. Today, developer PUBG Corp. revealed that PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has passed 4 million players on Xbox One. To celebrate the milestone, the studio is giving away a whole bunch of in-game currency to Xbox players for use on loot crates.Specifically, Xbox One players will receive 30,000 Battle Points to use on in-game cosmetic items. However, you must have purchased the game and created a character by 12 AM PT / 3 AM ET / 8 AM UTC on January 31 in order to get the bonus. The points will appear on February 1.30,000 points actually works out to a good number of loot crates, but you can get more out of the bonus if you spread the money out over several weeks. PUBG's crates get progressively more expensive the more you buy in a week; you can buy a max of 6 crates per week, the cheapest being 700 points and the most expensive being 7000.
