Developer and publisher Rebellion released an explosive new Sniper Elite V2 Remastered trailer. The launch trailer shows off the brand new features and visuals of the upcoming game. With only one day until the game’s release, the exciting new look at Sniper Elite V2 Remastered gives players even more to look forward to. Sniper Elite V2 Remastered is, of course, the updated edition of Sniper Elite V2. Originally released in 2012, the stealthy tactical shooter takes place during the Battle of Berlin in 1945. The game follows the exploits of Lieutenant Karl Fairburne he sneaks behind enemy lines in 1945 Berlin. His objective? Capture or eliminate key Nazi scientists who are overseeing the development of a V-2 rocket program, and prevent the technology from falling into the Soviet Union’s hands. (Fellow history nerds may note that this is a twist on the real-life Operation Paperclip.) Sniper Elite V2 is probably most infamously known for its … [Read more...] about Sniper Elite V2 Remastered trailer shows plenty of x-ray gibs

In a new demo, the maker of Cryengine has shown off real-time ray tracing running on non-Nvidia hardware. Since the reveal of Nvidia’s Turing GPU generation last year, much of the green team’s pitch for the new RTX cards revolved around their capability to run ray-traced games in real time. Up until that point, the dream of real-time ray tracing was just that; a dream. Everyone assumed Nvidia will have the tech on lockdown for a while, but the situation is seemingly changing. Crytek, creator of the Cryengine, has debuted a new demo called Neon Noir. In it, the developer shows the latest version of the engine’s Total Illumination tool, which is seen producing real-time ray tracing lighting. The real surprise here is that the demo is running on an AMD Vega 56 GPU. Crytek says this version of ray tracing, using its Total Illumination tech, will be capable of running on “most mainstream, contemporary AMD and Nvidia GPUs.” The tool is also API agnostic, with … [Read more...] about Crytek shows ray tracing running on AMD GPU in Neon Noir Cryengine demo
A new loot box feature is coming to Fortnite: Save the World – X-Ray Llamas. Epic Games will introduce a new loot box feature to Fortnite: Save the World with the v7.30 update. This new feature will allow you to see what’s inside before hitting the purchase button. Formally known as V-Buck Llamas, these will known as X-Ray Llamas after the update drops. X-Ray Llamas will now show you the entire contents of the crate. Should you not be interested in what the Llama has to offer, just hold off until the daily store refresh. A breakdown of how the new feature works was posted by Epic. We’ve popped it in below. How X-Ray Llamas work Llamas prices remain the same, and llamas can still be earned through gameplay. The price doesn’t change when the llama upgrades – you can see the upgrade before you purchase, and any item can come from the cheapest Llama. You can wait and find your favorite weapon in a 50 V-Buck llama, with no guessing. The items offered are based … [Read more...] about Fortnite Save the World X-Ray Llamas let you see what’s inside before purchasing
Microsoft will tell you its Xbox One X is hot stuff - but one owner says the world's most powerful console is proving a little too warm for comfort. Andy Eggleton, 44, from Cottingham in Yorkshire, told Eurogamer his Xbox console is accidentally switching on the electric fireplace in his lounge. His fireplace - an Endeavour Fires brand Castleton Electric Fireplace Suite - is designed to be remote controlled. You can switch the fire on and off and select temperature and brightness options, but these are meant to work with the fireplace's own remote control - not an Xbox.I have to admit, when Eggleton got in contact this week via an email with the subject line "Help! My Xbox One X has started turning on my electric fire!", I was sceptical. But he was keen to provide evidence for this burning issue."I was thinking we must have a poltergeist or something. My missus said it must be a fault with the fireplace." "My initial thought was the batteries were going in the fireplace remote," … [Read more...] about Help! BIONIC soldiers with x-ray vision could soon be a reality thanks to a new wireless system that uses radio-waves to map people's movements behind walls. Researchers at MIT trained an artificial intelligence to analyse radio signals that bounce off human bodies to create a dynamic stick figure that mimics a person's actions. The so-called neural network can sense people's postures and movement even from the outside of a building or room. MIT says the tech can be embedded in to a wireless device, which would theoretically allow soldiers to hook it up to their combat gear – like helmets and night-vision goggles. In the future, military personnel could use it on the battlefield to "see" hidden enemies by wearing augmented reality headsets. Researchers are now working to create realistic 3D models that map even more detailed movements. For example, the tech could soon show if a person's hands are shaking. The biggest challenge the team faced is that most neural networks are … [Read more...] about X-ray vision will give soldiers super-hero ability to see through walls
