There’s a newly-released raid in World of Warcraft, which gives players the chance to work their way through the Zandalar city of Dazar’Alor. While the raid is available in normal and heroic difficulties, the competitive mythic mode won’t open until Jan. 29. This will spark off another race to World First — the record for working through the raid and downing the final boss before anyone else in the game. In many ways, the stakes for this World First are the highest they’ve been. One guild, in the hunt for any possible advantage, had more than 50 of their characters abandon the Horde and join the Alliance for the best possible start. Dazar’Alor is a raid that offers different boss orders for both Horde and Alliance, and we’re fighting several major lore figures, including Jaina Proudmoore, the Warcraft 3 veteran and star of one of the three “Warbringer” shorts. The recent race through Battle for Azeroth’s first raid, Uldir, saw … [Read more...] about A top World of Warcraft guild left the Horde for a huge raiding advantage
World of warcraft character transfer
World of Warcraft’s world PVP was once considered one of the best things to do in the Vanilla version of the game. Characters, leveling as either Horde or Alliance, would find themselves making their way through border skirmishes and uneasy truces. Southshore and Tarren Mill, for instance, were filled with characters of different factions ... and they were just down the road from each other. The Barrens bordered right on the Night Elf territory of Ashenvale. Playing Horde or Alliance gave you a different story, but you were always aware of the other faction being right there, perilously close. I still remember the thrill I got the first time a quest sent me into the thick of Horde territory on my PVP server, or the first time I killed a bear and turned around to see a much higher-level Orc hunter watching me from afar. These were genuinely cool moments, and as the game progressed, a World PVP culture started to emerge. Tarren and Southshore would constantly have massive raids … [Read more...] about World of Warcraft’s War Mode is the expansion’s secret star
World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth is all about the faction war at the moment: Horde versus Alliance, red versus blue. But sometimes, being practical is more important than being sentimental. You may be an Alliance player, like I am, but having friends on Horde dictates that you have a Horde character ready to play as well. So while I left my main character on Alliance, I tested what would happen if you bought a faction change in Battle for Azeroth, switching another to the competing side. After hitting level 120 with my third character, an Alliance Shaman, I decided that I would rather have this character on the Horde side, so that I could heal dungeons with some pals. I then purchased a faction change out of both necessity and curiosity. At the time of faction change, I had not only reached the max level, but I’d also completed the storylines of each Alliance zone. Although I was eager to make the switch, I had some holdups before going through with my faction change. … [Read more...] about What happens when you faction change in World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth?
New expansions are always a joyous time in the World of Warcraft community. With it comes a host of new zones, Dungeons, and Raids, which in turn means hours of brand new things to do across all of Azeroth. It also means that players have an additional 10 levels to grind their way through during their quest to defeat the opposing faction. However, this grind can be daunting for newcomers and time-pressed people who either don’t have the time or experience to completely or effectively dedicate themselves to powering up their characters, especially with all the ways players can distract themselves. Luckily, there are a ton of different methods and tips to make this a more efficient process. Plus, purchasing Battle For Azeroth also grants players a character boost to level 110, so they’ll be able to hop into the new expansion’s content straight away.Questing While it may seem obvious, questing is the fastest way to generate experience and level up your … [Read more...] about World of Warcraft: How To Reach Level 120 Quickly
You may have thought you were out, but World of Warcraft is ready to pull you back in with a Welcome Back Weekend. That's a catchy way of saying that lapsed players can jump back into the Azeroth action with full access and accounts upgraded to Warlords of Draenor or, if it's newer, your most recently-purchased expansion. The WoWWBW is good until June 24, and you can play as much as you want, to as high a level as you want. (The free World of Warcraft Starter Edition caps players at level 20—that's where to go if you're new to the game.) During that time, Blizzard is also offering 25 percent off a number of game services, including character transfers, and race, appearance, and faction changes. As for why Blizzard has chosen to do this solid for its former players at this particular time, my guess is that it's related to the forthcoming launch of the next WoW expansion, Battle for Azeroth, which picks up the action following the defeat of the Burning Legion. You will no … [Read more...] about World of Warcraft invites lapsed players back with a ‘Welcome Back Weekend’
