Overwatch‘s Anniversary 2019 event is now live, giving players the chance to collect basically every skin in the game as well as participate in all of seasonal game modes from the game’s past events. In addition to past skins, the Anniversary 2019 event for Overwatch also adds six new legendary skins to the game for players to collect, with each costing 3,000 coins. Five of the six characters to get new legendary skins for the Overwatch Anniversary 2019 event are characters who were in the game at launch. Brigitte is the only post-launch Overwatch character to get a legendary skin as part of the event. However, there are lower-tier skins for other characters on the roster. So far, it seems that the most popular Anniversary 2019 event skin in Overwatch is Gargoyle Winston. While many Overwatch fans are still waiting for the ultra-intelligent gorilla to get a buff before they use him regularly in Competitive Play, others may be unable to pass up the chance … [Read more...] about Overwatch: All the Anniversary 2019 Legendary Skins
Woodstock 50th anniversary 2019
It’s nearly AMD’s semicentennial and the company is putting together a batch of commemorative products to mark the occasion. AMD has now confirmed a Ryzen 7 2700X Gold Edition CPU bundle, as well as offering World War Z and The Division 2 gratis to anyone buying select AMD CPU, GPUs, or PCs. Further special edition products have also been announced, voluntarily or involuntarily, including a brand new AMD Radeon VII colourway and X470 motherboards. Advanced Micro Devices was founded on May 1, 1969 by Jerry Sanders and his compadres from Fairchild Semiconductor, now a subsidiary of ON Semiconductor. That’s the same IC company that Gordon Moore and Robert Noyce worked at before founding Intel back in the day. Following the development of its own microprocessors, logic chips, RAM, and after multiple cross-licensing agreements with Intel, it’s been slowly rising up to become the only major, multifaceted contender to the x86 originator in the CPU … [Read more...] about All the AMD 50th anniversary GPUs, CPUs, stickers, and T-shirts announced so far
It’s celebration time at AMD, and not just because it’s set to launch both the next-gen Ryzen 3000 processors and Navi graphics cards in just a few short months. AMD is turning 50 this year, and to celebrate the chip manufacturer is reportedly preparing a 50th Anniversary Edition of the Ryzen 7 2700X. The prospective new chip has been listed on ShopBLT with a new part number and did initially appear with a new, higher, price tag too. That would possibly indicate a change in the specifications for the Anniversary Edition, but the listing on the retail site has been altered since it was first launched, with a note now stating the listing “will be removed from our site shortly.” For the time being, however, it is still in place even if the price is gone and there is now no facility to pre-order. The very existence of the listing ahead of the May 1 anniversary of AMD’s founding makes it very likely this is actually ‘a thing’ and not just a … [Read more...] about With Ryzen 3000 coming soon, what can the AMD 2700X 50th Anniversary Ed offer?
Konami has announced three retro gaming collections as part of its 50th-anniversary celebrations. The three collections will each be themed after a different part of Konami’s gaming history. So far, all eight of the Arcade Classics games have been confirmed. Four Castlevania and Contra games have been announced, with more to be revealed later. All three collections will be available for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. Here are the games that we know for sure will be in each collection: Anniversary Collection: Arcade Classics Gradius Gradius 2 Life Force TwinBee Haunted Castle A-Jax (Typhoon) Thunder Cross Scramble Castlevania Anniversary … [Read more...] about Konami Announces Three 50th Anniversary Retro Classics Collections
Shonen Jump and Uniqlo are celebrating the magazine’s 50th anniversary by putting favorite manga scenes on sweet, affordable t-shirts. The shirt designs are awesome and feature direct art from manga like Dragon Ball, Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Gintama and Hunter x Hunter. (Y’know, because those are all Shonen Jump manga.) Each shirt is $14.90 (kids tees are $9.90), which is a steal for official graphic tees like this. While some of the shirts feature serious scenes and cool poses, you can also buy sillier shirts like the Yamcha one below, featuring him in his iconic death pose. My personal favorite is the Gon-san shirt, which has his bizarrely tall hair stretching across the front of the shirt and continuing onto the back of the shirt. You can grab the shirts at Uniqlo’s online store or in retail stores, with more designs releasing on May 25 and one additional tee set for release on June 25. … [Read more...] about Uniqlo’s Shonen Jump 50th anniversary line is here
