Who is the engineer in WandaVision? A look at the leading candidates from Marvel’s past (and future)

· February 11, 2021 ·

Beyond WandaVision's big cameo in episode 5 , one blink-and-you'll-miss-it mystery still remains. While trying to find out the truth behind Westview, SWORD's Monica Rambeau decided to draft in some much-needed help in the form of an "engineer" she's chummy with. But, outside of a quick close up on the phone she used to text them, we're still none the wiser as to who it might be. Marvel has a long, long history of superheroes and civilians capable in science, as well as those adept at tinkering with technology. While Monica specifically mentioned it was an engineer of the aerospace variety in her powwow with Randal Park's Jimmy Woo and Kat Dennings' Darcy Lewis, the field is still pretty wide open when it comes to the identity of the unnamed engineer. But it's got to be someone familiar, right? From the MCU's Mightiest Heroes to those we've yet to meet – here are the five most likely candidates. Reed Richards The Fantastic Four are officially coming to the MCU at some … [Read more...] about Who is the engineer in WandaVision? A look at the leading candidates from Marvel’s past (and future)

The best Zelda games: Eurogamer editors’ choice

· February 26, 2016 ·

You've already had your say on the very best Zelda games as we celebrate the series' 30th anniversary - and you did a mighty fine job too, even if I'm fairly sure A Link to the Past belongs at the head of any list - so now it's our turn. We asked the Eurogamer editorial team to vote for their favourite Zelda games (though Wes abstained because he still doesn't know what a Nintendo is) and below you'll find the full top ten, along with some of our own musings. Can we get the games in their rightful order? Probably not... 10. A Link Between Worlds How brilliantly contradictory that one of the best original games on Nintendo's 3DS would be a 2D adventure game, and that one of the most daring Zelda entries would be the one that so closely aped one of its predecessors. It helps, of course, that the template was lifted from one of the greatest games in the series and, by extension, one of the finest games of all time. There's an endearing breeziness to A Link to the Past, a … [Read more...] about The best Zelda games: Eurogamer editors’ choice

Halo 5’s campaign goes back to basics – and it’s all the better for it

· October 26, 2015 ·

Playing Halo 5's campaign, you get the feeling developer 343 is being pulled in two opposing directions: one direction heads towards the tried and trusted Halo gameplay perfected by Bungie before Microsoft took over development duties after the release of Halo: Reach, the other direction heads towards a need to grow the Halo franchise while establishing new characters. Where does Halo 5's meaty, crisp and fun campaign end up? Further along the gameplay road than the story road. Let's start with the story. In the build up to the release of Halo 5, Microsoft's marketing has zeroed in on an apparent conflict between Master Chief, the series star, and a new Spartan, the ex-ONI agent Jameson Locke. Is Master Chief, who goes AWOL alongside a few of his Spartan friends (Fred, Linda and Kelly), really a traitor? Locke, leader of Fireteam Osiris (Buck, voiced by the suitably wise-cracking Nathan Fillion, Tanaka and Vale) is dispatched to hunt Master Chief down under orders issued by a … [Read more...] about Halo 5’s campaign goes back to basics – and it’s all the better for it
