You've already had your say on the very best Zelda games as we celebrate the series' 30th anniversary - and you did a mighty fine job too, even if I'm fairly sure A Link to the Past belongs at the head of any list - so now it's our turn. We asked the Eurogamer editorial team to vote for their favourite Zelda games (though Wes abstained because he still doesn't know what a Nintendo is) and below you'll find the full top ten, along with some of our own musings. Can we get the games in their rightful order? Probably not... 10. A Link Between Worlds How brilliantly contradictory that one of the best original games on Nintendo's 3DS would be a 2D adventure game, and that one of the most daring Zelda entries would be the one that so closely aped one of its predecessors. It helps, of course, that the template was lifted from one of the greatest games in the series and, by extension, one of the finest games of all time. There's an endearing breeziness to A Link to the Past, a … [Read more...] about The best Zelda games: Eurogamer editors’ choice

The best Zelda games: Readers’ choice
To mark the 30th anniversary of the Zelda series, an occasion that passed this Sunday, we asked you to let us know your favourite Zelda games, in order that we could impose some arbitrary hierarchy on an expansive series and have a nice clean list at the end of it all. Thanks so much for taking part - it's been a delight picking through your memories and arguments for and against the highlights of this most grandiose of series. We'll be having our own say on what we think are the greatest entries in the series in due course, but first here's your take on the very best The Legend of Zelda has had to offer. Thank you so much for taking part! 12. Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link (1987) What we said: Absolutely nothing to date, to our shame. Zelda 2's always been something of an outsider in the series, a side-scrolling adventure with more explicit RPG leanings, and it's an all-too-often overlooked part of the series and its formative years. Thankfully, you're not quite as ignorant as us … [Read more...] about The best Zelda games: Readers’ choice
The Last of Us Tommy actor reveals his dream choice for who should play his character in TV show
The Last of Us actor who played Tommy has revealed who he wants to portray his character in the forthcoming HBO adaptation. Just below, you can see actor Jeffrey Pierce revealing who he wants to play Joel's brother Tommy in the upcoming The Last of Us TV show . When asked by a fan for his choice to take on the role, Pierce reveals that Mexican actor and producer Gael García Bernal would be his dream choice to step into the shoes of Tommy. I auditioned for Joel, but Troy Baker walked in and WAS Joel. :) @Neil_Druckmann kept me in mind when they got to Tommy and offered it to me. Rest is history. Gael Garcia Bernal, assuming they go Latino. Or a Latina woman. And I mean that 100% sincerely. Aunt "Tommy" Tomasina. ;) February 24, 2021 See more Pierce is assuming that the HBO adaptation will go with a Latino actor for the role of Tommy, after the show cast Chilean-American actor Pedro Pascal in the leading role of Joel . He also mentions that he would "100% … [Read more...] about The Last of Us Tommy actor reveals his dream choice for who should play his character in TV show

Humble, that purveyor of assorted gaming grab bags, has just launched its latest Choice bundle and it's headlined by a pair of excellent PC games: supernatural shooter Control and sci-fi strategy spin-off XCOM: Chimera Squad. Chris Evans explains why Anthony Mackie’s Falcon is the right choice for Captain America
Chris Evans has weighed in on the MCU's potential new Captain America – Anthony Mackie's Falcon, AKA Sam Wilson. Speaking to Variety , Evans commented: "[Falcon's] role within the Marvel universe has answered the call to action time and time again. He's proven his courage, loyalty and reliability over multiple films. Sam has given so much, and he's also lost a lot too. He believes in something bigger than himself, and that type of humility is necessary to carry the shield." Sounds like a ringing endorsement to us. Falcon looked set to be the new Cap for sure when the close of Avengers: Endgame saw original hero Steve Rogers hand over the shield. But Mackie has recently teased that he might not be the new Captain America after all . It also seems that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will have another contender for the mantle – new character US Agent (Wyatt Russell) is carrying a shield of his own. We can't think of anyone better suited to take on the Captain America … [Read more...] about Chris Evans explains why Anthony Mackie’s Falcon is the right choice for Captain America
