Paramount+: Price, Original Content, And More
Paramount+ , a rebranded version of CBS All Access, launched today, March 4. Though it still very much looks like CBS All Access in terms of content right now, Paramount+ promises to offer far more original content and movies than were previously available on All Access. The expanded service will look to compete with big streaming names such as Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max, and Disney+. We've rounded up all of the details you need to know about Paramount+. How much does Paramount+ cost? Paramount+ currently has two subscription plans that are available to purchase: a mostly ad-free premium plan for $10 per month and an ads-supported basic plan for $6. The ads-supported plan has been rolled over from CBS All Access, but it will decrease in price to $5 in June. It's important to note that the ad-free plan will still have ads for live TV streams. ViacomCBS also says that "a few shows include brief promotional interruptions to keep you in the loop on new and upcoming Paramount+ … [Read more...] about Paramount+: Price, Original Content, And More
AMD shows the Radeon RX 6700 XT outpacing Nvidia’s RTX 3070 in selected games
AMD has officially unveiled the speeds and feeds of its latest GPU, the Radeon RX 6700 XT . It transpires that the rumours were right on this one, and there's only a single GPU on the way, not the usual XT and non-XT variants. AMD also provided a few benchmarks to get our heads around. The first slide to feature benchmarks had comparisons against the GTX 1070 Ti and the RTX 20870 Super, which had us worried about how it would fair against more recent releases, but thankfully it quickly followed this up with comparisons to the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti and the RTX 3070 . That first slide does show how far we've come though, and AMD is at least definitely in the game at this stage. The fact it has a GPU that can beat the RTX 2080 Super at 1440p is nothing to be sniffed at. When it comes to the more up-to-date graphics cards, things look fairly healthy, although we'd recommend the usual pinch of sodium chloride, as AMD may have cherry-picked these games to some extent. Not … [Read more...] about AMD shows the Radeon RX 6700 XT outpacing Nvidia’s RTX 3070 in selected games
Mortal Kombat movie: Shang Tsung powers up in this exclusive new image
"There’s a lot of fighting in the film," Mortal Kombat movie director Simon McQuoid promises. And you would certainly hope he's right – this, after all, is an adaptation of one of the most famous fighting video game series of all time. Unlike the last Mortal Kombat movie, though, this one promises bloody fatalities aplenty. "Some fights are big, some are small, but my main goal was to make the fights mean something," McQuoid tells Total Film . "I wanted the fights to look and feel like they didn’t just sort of pop out of the story and then come back in. "I didn’t want anything generic. I didn’t want anything that you could see in any action movie. The stunt team on this were just amazing, and they designed some pretty fucking incredible things.” Above you can see an exclusive image from the new Mortal Kombat movie. It features Chin Han (Ghost in the Shell, Marco Polo, The Dark Knight) as the villain Shang Tsung, who was famously played by Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa in the 1995 … [Read more...] about Mortal Kombat movie: Shang Tsung powers up in this exclusive new image
Elite Dangerous’ Odyssey expansion opens playable PC alpha later this month
Elite Dangerous: Odyssey, the new on-foot-focussed expansion for developer Frontier's long-running space sim, will be opening its doors to the paying public on 29th March, when its playable alpha gets underway for Commanders on PC. Players wishing to take part in the alpha will need to have pre-ordered Elite Dangerous: Odyssey's Deluxe Alpha edition, priced at £39.99 - which is £10 more than the standard edition if you're wondering how much you'll be paying for the privilege (and an OST). To accompany the news, Frontier has released a new trailer showing off gameplay from the alpha build of Odyssey. Here, three players team up to complete an on-foot raid of a military outpost in order to disable its power and hinder the opposing faction. "All three Commanders in the incursion team are specially equipped for their assigned role," explains Frontier. "Their tactical gear grants them an edge in their assigned tasks, whether it is to infiltrate the base avoiding detection, lay down … [Read more...] about Elite Dangerous’ Odyssey expansion opens playable PC alpha later this month
