The release of World of Warcraft's next expansion, Dragonflight, is far closer than most players expected, with Blizzard recently confirming the expansion to be on track for a 2022 release . That was not news many players in the game's community expected to hear. After all, when Blizzard announced Dragonflight back in April , it made sure not to give any kind of release date or window, instead telling players it would arrive when it was ready. "When it's ready" is apparently very soon, as in "before or on December 31, 2022" soon. Players aren't sure what to make of this. On one hand, the community is desperate to move on from the disappointment that was Shadowlands and return to Azeroth proper. On the other hand, given the late announcement of the expansion and the fact that alpha testing for Dragonflight has yet to start on the game's public test realm (but is likely coming very soon), players are concerned a 2022 release date is too soon. As such, a significant part of … [Read more...] about Some WoW Fans Are Begging Blizzard To Delay Dragonflight

Hogwarts Legacy fan discovers DLC packs and extras inside website code
A Hogwarts Legacy fan has discovered possible DLC packs and extras tucked away inside the game's official website. Hogwarts Legacy is set to release sometime towards the end of 2022, but so far, the exact date that we’ll be able to enrol in the infamous School of Witchcraft and Wizardry remains a mystery. Set in the 1800s, the game will see familiar faces like Harry, Ron and Hermione swapped for a whole new cast of characters. With no official news since Sony’s State of Play presentation in March, an eagle-eyed Reddit user has done some digging and discovered what appears to be a list of additional content for Hogwarts Legacy. The list seemingly includes DLC packs and extra items which are thought to be included in certain additions of the game or as pre-order bonuses. As well as digital goodies, the list also makes mention of physical extras such as a steel case and a “Floating Ancient Magic Wand with Book”. Shenmue Creator Yu Suzuki Explains The Giant Flying Swans Of Air Twister
Yu Suzuki, the creator of Shenmue, Space Harrier, and many other games, is releasing his latest, Air Twister, via Apple Arcade on June 24. Ahead of its release, we spent some time with the game and even had the chance to speak with Suzuki through a translator about the dream-like experience wherein you ride giant swans across alien landscapes. Suzuki confirmed some of the game's details--like protagonist Princess Arch’s size and what classic children’s novel served as the game’s main inspiration--and talked about how much he enjoyed one of GameSpot’s top 10 games of 2021 , It Takes Two. I've been playing Air Twister and it is bizarre. Is that how you thought people would react to it? Yu Suzuki: I didn't really know what people would expect. I just made the game. That's normal for me. Air Twister feels a bit like you're playing an interactive dream. Was that the intention? Thank you very much. I appreciate your comment. Yeah, not particularly. I wasn't really thinking that … [Read more...] about Shenmue Creator Yu Suzuki Explains The Giant Flying Swans Of Air Twister

Blade Runner Enhanced Edition looks like a mess, and the community remaster devs aren’t happy about being replaced
Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition launched this week to a very negative response, and the community developers who brought the game to modern computers for free are unhappy about being replaced. "Over a number of years, I, along with friends, lovingly reverse engineered Westwood's Blade Runner for ScummVM, reviving the game and helping GOG to release the game for sale once again," developer Thomas Fach-Pedersen says on Twitter (opens in new tab) . "For this we have asked for and received nothing but the honor of the work." Nightdive Studios' Enhanced Edition has taken over the GOG listing for Westwood's classic 1997 Blade Runner adventure. The original version through ScummVM is still available as part of the purchase at the same price, but Fach-Pedersen takes issue with being a "mere attachment on somebody else's mediocre paid product." ScummVM is not an emulator, but from a player perspective it functions similarly to one, allowing you to play classic games on modern … [Read more...] about Blade Runner Enhanced Edition looks like a mess, and the community remaster devs aren’t happy about being replaced

Obi-Wan Kenobi finale includes one detail that changes a key Vader scene in Return of the Jedi
A new Star Wars fan theory suggests the Obi-Wan Kenobi finale has answered a lingering original trilogy question involving Darth Vader. Spoilers for Obi-Wan Kenobi episode 6 follow. Darth Vader unmasking himself as he lay dying at the end of Return of the Jedi has stayed with several generations of Star Wars fans. You’ve probably noticed the wound on his head dozens of times too. How did the Sith Lord (then played by Sebastian Shaw) get the battle scar? The smart money may have been during the events of Revenge of the Sith on Mustafar which left Anakin broken and beaten on the lava banks of the fiery planet. But, as some on social media have pointed out, it’s possible that Obi-Wan actually caused the injury during the events of the Obi-Wan Kenobi finale. OH LORD pic.twitter.com/gjwlBZjtR3 June 22, 2022 See more Obi-Wan and Vader fought on an unnamed planet midway through the sixth episode. Each took some serious blows too; Obi-Wan was buried under rubble, … [Read more...] about Obi-Wan Kenobi finale includes one detail that changes a key Vader scene in Return of the Jedi
