Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is coming, and though it's not a huge surprise - every home console since the series' N64 debut has had one - it seems to be the most definitive to date, as the title suggests. How exactly? For one, it features every Super Smash Bros. character ever created in one game. No more complaining about the lack of Pichu, Snake or Wolf - they're all in here. We also got an idea of features and other aspects, too, thanks to an E3 2018 showcase, all ahead of its release date on December 7th, 2018. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate characters explainedSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate lives up to its namesake when it comes to character roster alone, featuring every single character released in previous entries - the 64 original, Melee, Brawl, Wii U and 3DS editions - whether they've featured just once, as DLC, or have been with the series since the beginning. When it launches, Ultimate won't come every character playable from the outset, bbut the conditions for unlocking them will … [Read more...] about Super Smash Bros. During their Nintendo Direct presentation today, Nintendo revealed Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate got a huge update of information. First, the biggest announcement is that the game’s roster will have all returning characters from all previous Smash games. Yes, every single one. Wolf, Snake, Ice Climbers, Young Link, Cloud, they’re all here. In addition, there have been a bevy of updates on all these characters. There’s a laundry list of things to discuss, so we have to just list them off: Ridley joins the roster as a playable fighter. The Gamecube … [Read more...] about Nintendo Direct E3 2018: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Nintendo hit hard this week with a packed Nintendo Direct, but the biggest announcement that hit the hardest was the surprising reveal of what appears to be a brand new Smash Bros. game for the Nintendo Switch. Like pretty much anyone else watching the Direct, you can bet that I was HYPED for the fact that we’re getting a new Smash Bros., and my reaction to the announcement looked a lot like this: In the grand scheme of things, it was only a matter of time before we got some kind of confirmation that Super Smash Bros. would be coming to the Switch, but the fact that the announcement came from a seemingly ordinary Nintendo Direct in March (and not during the middle of E3 like many would have expected) made it that much more of a bombshell. While the teaser was brief, the fact that Super Smash Bros. is heading to Nintendo Switch — and especially that it is coming this year — should make Nintendo fans like myself very, very excited. Naturally, that … [Read more...] about Super Smash Bros. is Coming to the Switch: What Characters Can We Hope to See?

I know, I know, it could just be a reskin. After all, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS use the Twilight Princess version, and that particular version of Link is more than a decade old at this point - I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo just wanted to update his look for a ported version of what's also known as "Super Smash Bros. 4" that has just a few extra bells and whistles (kind of like the approach it took with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe). If that's the case, the Inklings are just one more little nice thing for those willing to buy what would essentially be the same game a third time. On the other hand... what if it's … [Read more...] about Super Smash Bros. is coming to Switch, and it’s bringing Inklings and BotW Link
