By Liana 'LiLi' Ruppert - March 4, 2019 11:13 am EST Share 0 Comments 0 Yesterday Star Wars actor Oscar Isaac suddenly became a trending name once more for an entirely different movie: Metal Gear Solid. When the actor mentioned in a recent interview that he would be down to play the franchise's protagonist, the Internet went wild. Since we've already seen the actor in the role thanks to an incredible piece of fan art that debuted last year, it wasn't hard to see him in the role. Now the upcoming film's director is weighing in ... with a twist. What started it all is when the below incredible fan art made its rounds back in 2018: OK let's get back to serious Bid-NESS and that's rolling with the hype of a #metalgearsolid movie. Wanted to try #oscarisaac he has a dope mean mug so I wanted to see how he looks. #henrycavill since I don't think I did it justice on the first one which was done quick #mgs ? pic.twitter.com/vzagaoVL9c — BossLogic (@Bosslogic) … [Read more...] about Metal Gear Solid Movie Director Comments On Oscar Isaac’s Bid to Play Snake

There’s a secret message to Kojima in Metal Gear Survive (and some bad words for Konami people)
It looks like Kojima still has some loyal followers at Konami with the discovery of a secret message inside Metal Gear Survive. Metal Gear Survive tips and guideSurvive is obviously the first Metal Gear game since Kojima left Konami in what looks like a very messy split, and it appears at least someone on the game's team still has feelings about that. Over the weekend numerous images appeared showing what appears to be an acrostic in an early scene from the game (that's a fancy word for when the letters of several lines spell something out). Here's the best image showing what's going on: As you can see, the role call of soldiers spells 'KJP FOREVER', with 'KJP' previously an abbreviation for Kojima Productions. The last two names, Bastard Yota and Cunning Yuji seem to be a reference to Survive director Yota Tsutsumizaki and producer Yuji Korekado. They are the only names on the list marked as AWOL, everyone else is KIA or MIA. Those nicknames here suggest that … [Read more...] about There’s a secret message to Kojima in Metal Gear Survive (and some bad words for Konami people)
Gears of War 3 • Page 2
Visually, of all the general improvements to the engine, it's the lighting that works the real magic, at times creating a sense of something I've never previously experienced in a Gears game: beauty. And I struggle to think of a more gloriously convincing riposte to the persistent jibes about Gears of War's colour palette than the setting for Act V. Elsewhere, however, there's evidence that we are reaching the limits of the hardware, such as those moments when Fenix is arbitrarily required to chainsaw through wood - which result in some horrible clipping as his tree-trunk arms clumsily disappear through it. At times pre-rendered cut-scenes kick in, and slightly dodgy compression sees to it that they lack the razor sharpness of their real-time counterparts. The game also supports stereoscopic 3D. As with others in the currently shallow pool of compatible 360 titles, this uses side-by-side mode, so the resolution of the resultant image is effectively halved. Nevertheless, for a game so … [Read more...] about Gears of War 3 • Page 2

Hideo Kojima’s Worldwide Tech Tour Sparks Existential Beard Crisis
Earlier this week legendary video game designer Hideo Kojima and scary-smart PS4 architect Mark Cerny embarked on a tour to see the biggest and best video game developers in the world.Kojima recently founded a new studio and is currently trying to familiarise himself with technology on the bleeding edge of game development. To what end? We're not exactly sure. It seems he's on some sort of vision quest. It's kind of like Easy Rider but with less drugs (probably) and more expensive cameras. Thus far, Kojima and Cerny have met with Star Wars: The Force Awakens director JJ Abrams and they visited Sony's motion-capture studio in San Diego to see the tech used for Naughty Dog's The Last of Us. They also had dinner with Hollywood veteran Kyle Cooper. The latest leg of his tour took him to see Sucker Punch, the studio behind the Infamous series. While there he discussed what type of Star Wars underwear he was wearing with studio founder Brian Fleming (and probably some other stuff too). Both of … [Read more...] about Hideo Kojima’s Worldwide Tech Tour Sparks Existential Beard Crisis
