The private beta of Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 kicks off today for those who have preordered the game. While high-level content doesn’t unlock until tomorrow, there’s still plenty to share about our first few hours with the game. It’s clear that The Division 2 has a look and feel that’s very different from its predecessor. Meanwhile, we’re still not sure what to make of the storyline so far. Here’s five things we learned on the first day of The Division 2’s private beta. The tactics have changed The changes to combat in The Division 2 go deep, and they begin with subtle changes to the look of the game. Environments appear to have much less contrast than in the original, especially at night or in dark environments. Once engaged, there’s no longer a guarantee that enemies will have a persistent icon floating over their heads. Those two differences combine to make it very hard to know how many enemies you’re fighting against at … [Read more...] about The Division 2 private beta: Five things we learned on the first day
What is division 2
Within seconds of playing The Division 2 at developer Massive’s studios all the old habits come flooding back: we do jumping jacks in the staging area. Our recently activated, highly-trained, world-saving sleeper agents pass the time with emotes like the macarena and slow hand claps, as techy people fiddle with server stuff to get things started. At one point someone sees a dog in-game and we scramble desperately over abandoned cars and plant covered walls to confirm that, yes, it’s definitely a dog. Technically we’re meant to be restoring order to an epidemic ravaged Washington DC but, you know, dog. This, along with the direct PvP multiplayer I’ll get to later, was largely great fun (although you can’t actually pet the dog) because messing about with other people in a video game is nearly always great fun. However, the rest of it - the main city exploring and online four player co-op part of the game - is harder to call right now. Not because … [Read more...] about The Division 2 feels like a great game that’s yet to show me why I should care
Ever since the first game, players have been wanting and hoping for player raids complementing the PVP elements of The Division. In light of the recent announcement at E3 2018, we will finally be getting 8-player raids in the online component of The Division 2. We take a look at some more info and what The Division 2 Raids could do right where Destiny 2 did not achieve much. 8-player raids, specializations, and a full year of free story-driven missions, map expansions, and new game features. — The Division 2 (@TheDivisionGame) June 21, 2018 The Division 2 Raids Game Director, Julian Gerigty, soon after the announcement, talked about the Raid System in The Division. He says the reward will be worthwhile for the individual who will have achieved the feat. However, he also explains that these raids will be challenging and will take some decent amount of time and effort. The game is confirmed to have raids introduced weeks after the official launch of The Division 2 on Mar. 15, … [Read more...] about Discussing The Division 2 Raids and What We Expect
The Division 2 is going to be out very soon. As of now, there is little to no information available as to what the game will be about. You can check out what we know about the game but the fact is that the developers have kept us in the dark as to what the game will be about and how the story will progress. Today at SegmentNext, we decided to take a deeper look at the game and think about what the original Division did wrong. We have already written about what we expect from the game, let’s go ahead and see what should be avoided in the sequel for the Division 2 to be better than its predecessor. Having Very Little Content at Launch In hindsight, it is quite easy to see what makes The Division so special. There is a lot of content available for it. However, that was not always the case. Upon launch, there was not much to do once you had hit the level cap. This was eventually changed and a lot of modes and places were added which made the game much more enjoyable and a lot less … [Read more...] about What The Division 2 Needs to Avoid Doing To Be Successful
We have four Ubisoft Games coming out this year and while we only know of the two The Crew 2 and Skull & Bones, there are two more Tripple A games that are scheduled to roll out sometime before April 2019. Although they remain unknown, recent game releases, events and suggestions from Ubisoft have led to a speculation that those two games could be Watch Dogs 3 and The Division 2. What we know for sure is that Assassin’s Creed Origins will be having extensive post-launch contents as very recently the news of multiple DLCs for the game came in. For now, Assassin’s Creed isn’t going to return to its annual cycle so that leaves the most likely candidates; The Division 2 and Watch Dogs 3. We know that The Division is running out of content which gives more reason to develop another iteration to the title. We also know that The Division players are speculating as well for The Division 2, we have had a few rumors floating around as well. Watch Dogs is the next most … [Read more...] about Watch Dogs 3 and The Division 2 Are Coming This Year?
