Superman: Space Age is historical fiction about ‘hope against the backdrop of hopelessness’
The DC Universe has seen its fair share of Crises , including the current Dark Crisis , but none are more iconic than 1985's Crisis on Infinite Earths. That's why it's the endpoint for Mark Russell and Mike Allred's Superman: Space Age , a three-part limited series that explores Superman's life in the context of real-world historical events, all leading up to Crisis. As Clark Kent struggles to follow advice from both of his fathers – Jor-El and Jonathan Kent – the world around him approaches a major turning point in which the simple click of a button could change everything. Ahead of the publication of Superman: Space Age #1 in July, Newsarama spoke with Russell and Allred about Crisis, hope, and what Superman means to them. Shenmue Creator Yu Suzuki Explains The Giant Flying Swans Of Air Twister
Yu Suzuki, the creator of Shenmue, Space Harrier, and many other games, is releasing his latest, Air Twister, via Apple Arcade on June 24. Ahead of its release, we spent some time with the game and even had the chance to speak with Suzuki through a translator about the dream-like experience wherein you ride giant swans across alien landscapes. Suzuki confirmed some of the game's details--like protagonist Princess Arch’s size and what classic children’s novel served as the game’s main inspiration--and talked about how much he enjoyed one of GameSpot’s top 10 games of 2021 , It Takes Two. I've been playing Air Twister and it is bizarre. Is that how you thought people would react to it? Yu Suzuki: I didn't really know what people would expect. I just made the game. That's normal for me. Air Twister feels a bit like you're playing an interactive dream. Was that the intention? Thank you very much. I appreciate your comment. Yeah, not particularly. I wasn't really thinking that … [Read more...] about Shenmue Creator Yu Suzuki Explains The Giant Flying Swans Of Air Twister
Some WoW Fans Are Begging Blizzard To Delay Dragonflight
The release of World of Warcraft's next expansion, Dragonflight, is far closer than most players expected, with Blizzard recently confirming the expansion to be on track for a 2022 release . That was not news many players in the game's community expected to hear. After all, when Blizzard announced Dragonflight back in April , it made sure not to give any kind of release date or window, instead telling players it would arrive when it was ready. "When it's ready" is apparently very soon, as in "before or on December 31, 2022" soon. Players aren't sure what to make of this. On one hand, the community is desperate to move on from the disappointment that was Shadowlands and return to Azeroth proper. On the other hand, given the late announcement of the expansion and the fact that alpha testing for Dragonflight has yet to start on the game's public test realm (but is likely coming very soon), players are concerned a 2022 release date is too soon. As such, a significant part of … [Read more...] about Some WoW Fans Are Begging Blizzard To Delay Dragonflight

Ms. Marvel – Kamala Khan’s powers could be connected to the Nega-Bands or Quantum Bands from comics
Disney Plus' Ms. Marvel streaming series is now two episodes in, and the ways that Kamala Khan's superhero origin and powers have been changed in adapting them to the MCU from comic books are becoming clear, even as the mystery around the roots of Kamala's abilities is simultaneously taking shape. Ms. Marvel episode 2, now streaming, offers some further insight into Kamala Khan's new origins and how they relate to her hidden family history, channeling some of the themes of self-actualization and discovery that are important to her comic book story. For one thing, the episode makes it clear that while the apparently important bangle activates Kamala's powers, they're actually inherent to her and come from within, likely as a result of a powerful hidden ancestry. In comic books, Kamala Khan's powers are derived from her latent Inhuman DNA, which, when activated, grants her the power to change her size and shape. In practical terms, this often means growing in size to increase … [Read more...] about Ms. Marvel – Kamala Khan’s powers could be connected to the Nega-Bands or Quantum Bands from comics

It sounds like CKY drummer Jess Margera was telling the truth . In a livestream with Neversoft and Vicarious Visions veteran andyTHPS , Hawk said that the project was effectively killed after Activision merged the studio into Blizzard and rebranded it. "I mean that was the plan, you know, even up until the release date of this [THPS1+2] we were going 3 and 4, and then Vicarious got kind of absorbed, and then they were looking for other developers, and then it was over." Hawk added that Activision did accept pitches from other studios to take over the project, but they didn't trust any other team to get the job done in the same way that Vicarious Visions had done. "They didn’t like anything they heard, … [Read more...] about Tony Hawk Says Pro Skater 3 + 4 Was In Development Before Activision Pulled The Plug On It
