As I reach the end of my interview with Pagan Online’s lead game designer Emil Esov, I ask him how he feels about the upcoming action-RPG now that more than two years of work are coming to a close. “I’m going to shit my pants,” he tells me without hesitation. “We’ve never had this type of launch, and we’re all excited because many of our dreams are going to come true with this game.” There’s a good reason for both the excitement and the colourful language. Since forming in 2011, Mad Head Games has made its name with hidden object and adventure games, and in that time has scaled up from a handful of friends to nearly 200 developers. The growth makes sense but why the genre swap? Pagan Online’s streamlining of the action-RPG formula brings the team closer to creating the kind of games they play in their spare time. “It was always a dream of ours because most of us are hardcore gamers,” Esov says. “Hidden … [Read more...] about Pagan Online isn’t just for “players who are waiting for Diablo 4”

February 20, 2019 In the wake of controversy over how YouTube is handling child exploitation, Epic has pulled Fortnite ads from the site. YouTube faces increasing pressure from advertisers following a widespread claim that its algorithmic video recommendations are helping to bring together child predators and spread content that sexualises minors. It’s a new wave of the same sort of concern which came around the ‘adpocalypse,’ and now Fortnite publisher Epic has pulled advertisements from YouTube while it waits for the site to take action on this content. “We have paused all pre-roll advertising,” Epic tells The Verge. “Through our advertising agency, we have reached out to Google/YouTube to determine actions they’ll take to eliminate this type of content from their service.” YouTube has been taking action, but it seems to have had more effect on ordinary content creators than predators. Pokémon Go and Club Penguin videos in … [Read more...] about Epic pulls Fortnite ads while waiting for YouTube to deal with child exploitation

9th gen Intel Coffee Lake S chips have been revealed in official Intel documents and while we have not got confirmation of Core i7 CPUs or 8 core chips, I am sure plenty of you must be wondering whether you should wait for the upcoming 9th gen Intel Coffee Lake S chips or buy the variants that are on the market right now. While there is no confirmation regarding when the 9th gen Intel Coffee Lake S chips will be coming out, word has it that they will be coming to market this quarter and that is pretty soon. If you are in the market for a new CPU then you might as well buy one now if you get a decent deal. I say this because we know that Intel is having issues with the 10nm process and the chips based on the 10nm process will be coming out next year. In 2018, all the chips that will come out will be based on the same 14nm++ process. This means that there won’t be much increase in terms of performance and IPC gains. You might get a slight increase in clock speeds and … [Read more...] about Wait For 9th Gen Intel Coffee Lake S Chips Or Buy Now?
People have been asking whether they should build an Intel Coffee Lake system or if they should wait for Cannon Lake to come out first. If that is indeed the question that you are asking yourself then you have come to the right place as that is what we are going to talk about here. If you have an older system then you might want to upgrade your CPU especially if you have 2 cores. The latest series of CPUs come with 4 cores as standard in the mainstream lineup and the number goes up to 6 if you are going for higher-end CPUs. Having that said, I can see why you would ask yourself this question. To make things simple let me tell you that Cannon Lake CPUs for desktops are not coming out so unless you are thinking about a laptop upgrade there is no use thinking about Canon Lake. What you should be thinking about is Ice Lake. When it comes to Ice Lake we have not release date or release bracket for that matter. Intel is having issues with the 10nm process and it has been delayed time and … [Read more...] about Should You Build An Intel Coffee Lake System Now Or Wait For Cannon Lake?
