Payday 2, a co-op first-person shooter Steam hit, was still making money, virtual reality investments were about getting ahead of the game, and in-development titles, such as Raid: World War 2 and Overkill's The Walking Dead, were on course for success. Starbreeze's top brass even announced a new staff bonus system. The message was loud and clear: Starbreeze had evolved from the plucky developer of Payday into a big, important, successful entertainment company.Just two years later, Starbreeze is on the brink of extinction. It’s the holiday season, and Sony is giving its PlayStation Now subscribers an early Christmas bonus. This month, 50 new PlayStation 4 games will hit the service either as streaming titles or for download (but only for the PS4 and PS2 titles). PlayStation Now currently offers a host of games for $20 a month, $45 for three months, or $100 for a year. While the full list does seem to be one of quantity over quality, there are quite a few worth checking out. Here are some of the highlights organized for whatever mood you happen to be in. PlayStation Now in December: Heavy Hitters The biggest game by a large margin is Ubisoft’s For Honor. Since THQ Nordic skipped E3 this year, news surrounding one of the publisher’s most highly-anticipated 2018 titles, Darksiders III, has been sparse. Thanks to a recent leak, though, we may have just figured out when we’ll finally be able to get our hands on the game. According to a recent listing on the Microsoft Store that has since been changed, Darksiders III is scheduled to launch later this year on November 27. Normally, it’s hard to put much stock in random dates that appear on retail sites but this November 27 date does, in fact, happen to be a Tuesday which is the day that most games are still released upon. Plus, this late Fall window just seems like the right time for a game like Darksiders III to ship while still falling in line with THQ Nordic’s promise that the game would release in 2018.
