Over the past few months, there's been a discussion online about VFX artists being displeased when working for Marvel Entertainment. According to one Reddit thread , some artists are done working with Marvel, and they've been harboring those feelings for quite some time. However, the cast and crew of the upcoming She-Hulk: Attorney At Law Disney+ series stand in solidarity with these talented artists. During the TCA summer press tour She-Hulk panel, the showrunner discussed what's happening with VFX artists Marvel has hired to work on its movies and TV shows. "I feel incredibly deferential to how talented these artists are and how quickly they have to work," said EP and showrunner Jessica Gao. "Obviously, like much quicker than probably [the amount of time] given to them, in terms of like churning these things out. "I know that there's a lot of eyes on the CG and a lot of critique or whatever, but I do think that we have to be super conscious of, like you're saying, how the … [Read more...] about She-Hulk Bosses And Star Comment On Overworked VFX Artists Working With Marvel

Star Wars: Rogue One Returning To Theaters With Sneak Peek At Andor TV Show
Rogue One, the 2016 Star Wars spinoff, is returning to theaters this month to help hype up the launch of the Rogue One TV series, Andor. The official Star Wars account confirmed that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will come back to some IMAX theaters starting August 26. But why go to a theater to see a movie released six years ago that's already on Disney Plus? Disney is including an "exclusive sneak peak" at Andor as part of the theatrical re-release. Beyond that, anyone who hasn't seen it already might be interested, and repeat viewers may want a refresher on the big screen ahead of the show's debut on September 21. “Everything I did, I did for the Rebellion.” #Andor , in select IMAX theaters August 26. pic.twitter.com/iR8iD2c0n3 — Star Wars | Andor Premieres Sept 21 on Disney+ (@starwars) August 16, 2022 There is no word on what the "sneak peek" might include, but it's probably some kind of new footage for the Disney Plus series. Dungeon Munchies is an RPG platformer where you’re a zombie, and worse, an unpaid intern
Sometimes, a whole game sprouts from a tiny seed of an idea. In the case of Dungeon Munchies, it's a simple, jokey premise: you're an unpaid zombie intern. A necromancer-chef named Simmer raises you as part of her plan to unleash a new generation of magical cuisine on the world. Why? How? You're not being paid enough to ask those questions, because you're not being paid at all. So off you go, searching the dungeon for ingredients. Don't worry about dying: endless, inescapable revival is part of your employee benefits package. This concept dovetails neatly into a mechanical foundation. You explore an (almost completely linear) side-scrolling world, marching along, avoiding traps and fighting monsters. Then you harvest ingredients from those monsters and cook magical dishes that visibly mutate your body, Binding of Isaac-style. That would be a fine little game by itself—maybe some sort of roguelite. But that's not what we've got here. During the three years Dungeon Munchies spent … [Read more...] about Dungeon Munchies is an RPG platformer where you’re a zombie, and worse, an unpaid intern
Vampire Survivors has epic teaser trailers now
Audio player loading… While I wasn't paying attention, Vampire Survivors (opens in new tab) recently got a surprisingly epic narrator for trailers and also a real story. With, like... animated character art? The teaser for the v0.11.0 All-In-One Patch, due to drop on August 18th, has just been released on YouTube (opens in new tab) and seems to detail Queen Sigma, who is complete with an absolutely rad animatic and is "the most powerful being in the worlds of..." After watching the trailer I was left with but one question: Did Vampire Survivors just get Actual Lore? Don't get me wrong. Vampire Survivors always had lore, but it was a kind of tongue-in-cheek lore about searching for chicken on the floor and doing a literal milk run to a vampire dairy and also about how none of us have even seen a vampire in this supposed vampire apocalypse no matter how many coffins we open. It wasn't, like, a series with epic trailers. I'm not complaining, mind you. … [Read more...] about Vampire Survivors has epic teaser trailers now
Thymesia Tips For Beginners
Like most soulslike games, Thymesia comes packing a solid challenge, with plenty of secrets to discover and a whole lot of creative ways to dish out damage to your enemies. Whether you're familiar with the basics of the genre or Thymesia marks your entry point, you'll find there are many things the game does differently than other games that follow the classic FromSoftware formula. In this beginner's guide, we'll share a few tips to get you started on your quest through this plague-ridden adventure. Go nuts because there is no stamina meter Unlike almost every other soulslike game, Thymesia doesn't have a stamina bar, which means that aggressive play is encouraged. Due to the fact that you'll need to capitalize on the wounds you inflict by following up rapidly with claw attacks before they heal, you'll want to stay very active and mobile at all times. Without stamina to manage, your only goal is to master the art of diving in and out of range and keeping the pressure on your … [Read more...] about Thymesia Tips For Beginners
Another crypto game crashes and burns, won’t issue refunds to backers because there’s no money left
Audio player loading… Untamed Isles (opens in new tab) , a "monster-taming turn-based MMORPG" that found major success on Kickstarter, has been put "on hiatus" because of the crypto crash (opens in new tab) —Kickstarter backers are being told that there's no money left for refunds. The 2021 Kickstarter campaign (opens in new tab) for Untamed Isles rang up a remarkable $527,000 in backing—more than four times its initial goal. It promised a fully open world with "unique areas for friends to gather, practice PVP, trade, breed monsters, clear dungeons, and play through the story of untamed isles socially with open voice proximity communications." It also boasted a "play to earn" model in partnership with Direwolf, which would enable most of the items and all of the monsters in the game to be "tokenized" and bought, sold, or traded in various marketplaces or the in-game auction house. Unfortunately, the commitment to crypto is where it all went wrong. … [Read more...] about Another crypto game crashes and burns, won’t issue refunds to backers because there’s no money left
