‘Game of Thrones’ Prequel Gets ‘Jessica Jones’ Director, Cast Announced

On Monday, the network named the director for the first episode of the Game of Thrones prequel, as well as the series regular cast. According to Deadline, The Defenders and Jessica Jones director S.J. Clarkson has been hired to helm the project's first episode, and serve as an executive producer. The pilot script is being written by Jane Goldman and franchise creator George R.R. Martin. HBO reportedly recruited Clarkson after her schedule recently opened up. Previously, the only two stars attached to the Game of Thrones prequel were Naomi Watts and Josh Whitehouse. That changed with this announcement on Tuesday as eight up-and-coming actors have signed on for roles. Alex Kurtzman Hired to Five-Year Deal to Expand ‘Star Trek’ TV Franchise

CBS today announced that it Alex Kurtzman has extended his production agreement with CBS Television Studios through 2023. The new deal gives CBS Television Studios the exclusive rights to all television content produced by Kurtzman and his production banner, Secret Hideout. What should be of great interest to Star Trek fans is that Kurtzman’s deal also sets him to supervise the expansion of CBS’s Star Trek television franchise. Now, first looks at the series are starting to surface and fans have to be liking what they're seeing from the Disney+ series so far. A bunch of new images appeared in the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly. Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) sits in a doorway with Gina Carano (Cara Dune) and his other ally as they look into the distance. The Mandalorian deep dive covers a wide variety of topics with producer Dave Filoni. The creative team is determined to give audiences some all-new material heading into the Disney+ series. Crisis on Infinite Earths Comic Book Tie-In Kills a Major Arrowverse Character

Today, Walmart stores in the U.S. finally got the Crisis on Infinite Earths 100-Page Giant #1 -- and to the surprise of everyone reading it, there is actually what appears to be a major Arrowverse death which takes place within its pages. That's important, since the comic is at least theoretically canonical to the Arrowverse TV shows. There is also a character -- The Ray, from Earth-X -- who was seemingly killed on TV, who we learn was saved from annihilation at the last moment so that he can take part in The Monitor's plan to save the multiverse.
