A fan-made P.T. remake is available to download on PC right now courtesy of a 17 year-old developer. Hideo Kojima’s cancelled Silent Hills started out life as a spooky demo on the PSN Store, that was scrubbed from the face of the earth after Konami pulled the plug, although if you downloaded P.T. on your console, you can still replay it if you enjoy your nostalgia laden trips down memory lane to be slightly damp and distressing. Fans have been recreating the P.T. experience ever since, from a Minecraft version to P.T.-inspired indie horror Allison Road. P.T. for PC is the latest attempt at giving players the experience from the original demo, and has been developed by 17 year-old Qimsar. “I’m remaking PT on PC. Many others have begun trying to make their own ports, but as far as I can tell, I’m the only person who is still working on it, and I’m the only one who will finish,” Qimsar said in a Reddit post, via Polygon. “Prior to having … [Read more...] about P.T. gets a new remake on PC that dev says will be the only one that will get completed

Have You Played? is an endless stream of game retrospectives. One a day, every day, perhaps for all time. No, it was an educational game for the BBC Micro, in which the manifestation of the alphabetic character ‘T’ guided you through a quagmire of basic English. One day my mother discovered me, a five-year-old with a passion for self-destruction, in front of this game. I was screaming as loud as humanly possible. Or so the family legend goes. P.T. was the playable teaser for Silent Hills—the reboot of the Silent Hill series that was cancelled in 2015—and even though it was short it still ranks among the best horror games of all time (and certainly one of the scariest). It never made it to PC, but thanks to a couple of fan remakes you can now give it a whirl on your mouse and keyboard. The first remake is called Corridors, and is a recreation of the game in Unreal Engine 4. It's still very much a work in progress (expect bugs), and creator SmoggyChips plans to update it with more levels in the future. You can download it here, and you can see it being worked on in the video below, which also includes snatches of gameplay. The second remake comes from Redditor LinusPixel, who has extracted animation, map, and texture files from the original and tried to stitch them together in a new engine. Some of the files are difficult to work with, but you can play a very early prototype of it here. I can't wait to see … [Read more...] about You can now play Silent Hills’ P.T. teaser on PC thanks to fan remakes
