No Man's Sky is releasing on Nintendo Switch on October 7, 2022, Hello Games has announced. The Switch version of No Man's Sky was announced back in February and just last month Hello Games said it was putting the finishing touches on the port. Thankfully, it now seems there were little to no hiccups finalizing its release, as we're now officially only a few months away from launch. In a press release, Hello Games founder Sean Murray spoke about the immense challenge of porting such a large game, with a seemingly endless amount of procedurally generated worlds, onto the five-year old mobile Switch. "No Man's Sky on this tiny portable device feels both completely natural and also totally improbable at the same time," said Murray. "This has been a real moonshot for our small team. No Man's Sky is built around procedural generation, which means the console generates everything you see. This makes it so much harder to bring our game to something like the Switch, but I think … [Read more...] about No Man’s Sky Switch release date set for October

KOTOR II Game-Breaking Bug On Nintendo Switch Has A Workaround
Aspyr, developer of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II for Nintendo Switch, has offered a workaround to a bug that prevents players from completing the game. Some players were unable to complete the story after encountering a crash following one of the game's main cutscenes, taking place after the Basilisk Crash cutscene and landing on Onderon. The workaround requires players to access a hidden cheat menu and warp past that point, as Aspyr works on a more traditional fix for the game's next patch. According to Asypr's website , here's how to get around the crash: Before the cutscene, navigate to the party selection screen Triple click left thumbstick to open cheats menu Select warp and travel to OND504 Wrap to a random location, and do not head to the merchant quarter (another crash occurs there) This crash was previously thought to have affected all players of the Switch version of this Star Wars classic, but Aspyr clarified to Axios that only a small … [Read more...] about KOTOR II Game-Breaking Bug On Nintendo Switch Has A Workaround

Bungie talks Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted: harder, scarier, and building more end-game
When I had the rare opportunity to sit down with three lead Destiny 2 designers and talk about the Season of the Haunted, I knew exactly what I had to ask about first: Persona 4. Maybe it's just me, but I've found it impossible to separate this season's themes of self-acceptance from Atlus' coming-of-age JRPG. Seriously, you could put some of Crow's dialogue in Persona 4 unaltered and nobody would notice. Anyway, I'm sad to report that senior design lead Tom Farnsworth tells me there's no Persona shrine at the Bungie office. Instead, with input from Duality dungeon and design lead Brian Frank and art director Rob Adams, we end up chatting about how the Destiny team is crafting a harder, scarier experience in Season 17 – all while it attempts to invest further in the end-game and make Destiny 2 more welcoming to all kinds of players. Duality kicked everybody's ass With the Season of the Haunted, Bungie eased up on its usual pre-release hype reel and kept basically everything … [Read more...] about Bungie talks Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted: harder, scarier, and building more end-game
