report this adThere’s been a ton of chatter in regards to the final Nintendo Direct dedicated to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which revealed the game’s final pre-launch characters and new features coming when the game launches next month. While most of the recent news pertaining to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate sets up for future content after the game’s launch, it appears there is still inspiration to be drawn from the franchise’s history, with a few returning game modes to be included in the upcoming crossover. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be receiving three new modes inspired by the Nintendo Gamecube’s Super Smash Bros Melee. The first mode is Century Smash, where players face off against 100 enemies that are much easier to take on. Next up is All-Star Smash, where players will go up against endless waves of all the game’s fighters. Finally there’s Cruel Smash, which also pits the player against endless waves of … [Read more...] about These Super Smash Bros. Melee Modes Are Coming Back for Ultimate

Who’s competing in Nintendo’s E3 Super Smash Bros. Invitational
Nintendo is hosting a Super Smash Bros. competition at this year’s E3, and has invited eight of the best players from around the world to battle it out in the new, still-mysterious Switch fighting game. Today, Nintendo announced which top-tier Super Smash Bros. players are coming to E3, and if you have even a passing interest in competitive Smash, you probably know their names. The list includes Evo and Genesis champs Mang0 and MkLeo, as well as the winner of Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. Invitational at E3 2014, ZeRo. But it sounds like all eight will be going into the Super Smash Bros. Invitational fresh; Nintendo said that competitors will get their hands on the Switch version of the game for the first time at the event. Here’s the full list of competitors, via Nintendo: MkLeo – A professional Super Smash Bros. for Wii U player from Mexico. His favorite Nintendo game is Fire Emblem. He was the champion at GENESIS 4 and GENESIS 5. He was also the EVO Japan … [Read more...] about Who’s competing in Nintendo’s E3 Super Smash Bros. Invitational
Rumor: Super Smash Bros. on Switch Bringing Back These Characters
We likely won’t hear much more about Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo Switch until E3 2018 rolls around in June, but in the meantime, fans can expect to come across plenty of “leaks” and rumors about the upcoming game. The latest rumor surrounding Super Smash Bros. on the Switch points to a pair of characters that are apparently returning to the franchise in the form of the Ice Climbers. This rumor comes from Marcus Sellars, a Twitter user and supposed “industry insider” who has made a number of “leaks” in the past. Sellars seems to be accurate more often than the average leaker, which does lend a bit more credibility to his claims, but it’s worth pointing out that he has also been wrong many times in the past as well. Considering this, Super Smash Bros. fans should take this information with a massive grain of salt. Super Smash Bros Switch will see the return of the Ice Climbers and will feature a story mode modelled … [Read more...] about Rumor: Super Smash Bros. on Switch Bringing Back These Characters
Super Smash Bros. is coming to Nintendo Switch
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Switch is coming this year, Nintendo announced today. Nintendo revealed the Switch version of the game during today’s Nintendo Direct. The Switch version of Super Smash Bros. will be released this year and apparently includes the squid kids from Splatoon. Otherwise, Nintendo was light on details. In a news release, the company referred to the title as Nintendo Switch Super Smash Bros. and noted that “recognizable faces like Mario, Link and the Inklings from the Splatoon series” appear in the teaser, which is posted above. Of course, the Switch version’s biggest appeal is the ability to play Smash Bros. anytime, anywhere, so whatever else Nintendo has planned is pretty much gravy. Nintendo has released four games in the Smash franchise so far, starting with Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 64. The series continues to have a dedicated following, with Super Smash Bros. Melee for GameCube and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U appearing at this … [Read more...] about Super Smash Bros. is coming to Nintendo Switch
Super Smash Bros. is Coming to the Switch: What Characters Can We Hope to See?
Nintendo hit hard this week with a packed Nintendo Direct, but the biggest announcement that hit the hardest was the surprising reveal of what appears to be a brand new Smash Bros. game for the Nintendo Switch. Like pretty much anyone else watching the Direct, you can bet that I was HYPED for the fact that we’re getting a new Smash Bros., and my reaction to the announcement looked a lot like this: In the grand scheme of things, it was only a matter of time before we got some kind of confirmation that Super Smash Bros. would be coming to the Switch, but the fact that the announcement came from a seemingly ordinary Nintendo Direct in March (and not during the middle of E3 like many would have expected) made it that much more of a bombshell. While the teaser was brief, the fact that Super Smash Bros. is heading to Nintendo Switch — and especially that it is coming this year — should make Nintendo fans like myself very, very excited. Naturally, that … [Read more...] about Super Smash Bros. is Coming to the Switch: What Characters Can We Hope to See?
