Fall Guys developer Mediatonic has been purchased by Epic Games, according to the Epic Newsroom announcement . The news broke Tuesday, March 2 by Bloomberg's Jason Schreier , then followed up shortly after by the official Fall Guys Twitter account and Epic Games themselves. Both companies promise that Fall Guys gameplay "isn't changing" and "Epic will continue to invest in making the game a great experience for [players across platforms." The game will still be available on PC, PS4, and PS5, and will still release on Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X "soon." “Beyond the shared vision among our teams, we see tremendous potential in combining forces with Epic. Whether it’s about making our own games the best they can be or empowering other game developers to take their content from a kernel of an idea to commercial success, we know that together we will be able to reach greater heights," says Tonic Games Group co-founder, Paul Croft. Netflix US has picked up Liam Neeson's latest movie, The Ice Road, for $18 million. The streamer beat multiple buyers with the recording-breaking domestic deal, according to Deadline . Co-starring Laurence Fishburne, the action thriller sees a remote diamond mine collapse in the far northern regions of Canada. An ice driver (Neeson) then leads an impossible rescue mission over a frozen ocean to save the lives of trapped miners despite thawing waters and a threat they never see coming. The movie was written and directed by Jonathan Hensleigh, who previously wrote movies like Die Hard With a Vengeance, Jumanji, and The Punisher, the latter of which he also directed. This is the filmmaker's first movie in 10 years. Meanwhile, Neeson has had a lot on his plate. The actor's recent projects released in the past year include action thrillers The Marksman and Honest Thief, as well as the comedy drama Made in Italy, in which starred alongside his son, Micheál Richardson. … [Read more...] about Netflix buys new Liam Neeson movie in record-breaking deal
Elden Ring exists, for real, and now we know for sure because around two minutes of an old trailer leaked in off-screen, low-resolution chunks. I've seen the footage, and it sure looks like a FromSoft game. Dragons, swords, dodge rolls—it's Dark Souls 4, but you can ride a horse, and that's all we ever really wanted. Right? The footage is genuinely terrible. Not the game itself, just the quality. It looks like someone filmed it with the Motorola Razr I used in high school. It's not a leaked trailer as much as a collection of colors playing charades. If you haven't seen it, stop. Just wait for the real deal—this is likely an internal work-in-progress from months ago . But if you're one of the dedicated, self-proclaimed hollows thirsty for any molecule of information about Elden Ring, you've watched it 100 times already, and you're probably feeling one of two ways: Elated or empty. I expected extreme reactions. FromSoftware has some of the most dedicated fans in games. … [Read more...] about Elden Ring fans no longer have an outlet for fake lore, art, and desperation
AMD's Where Gaming Begins Episode 3 stream tomorrow will introduce us all to the AMD RX 6700 XT graphics card. That's where we'll get the basic low-down on the specs and performance of the new Navi 22-based GPU ahead of launch sometime in mid-March. But, inevitably, the first thing that people are going to be asking about the new Radeon graphics card is: Am I going to be able to buy one? The second question, linked to that first, will be: What the hell are you doing about miners? The graphics card market is in a pickle at the moment, to say the least. A perfect storm of pandemic-based production and supply chain problems has mixed with a huge spike in demand from stay-at-home PC gamers and the exponential rise in the profitability of GPU-based cryptocurrency mining, all combining to create a market where it's all but impossible to bag yourself a new card at anything like MSRP. Into this both the green team, with the Nvidia RTX 3060 , and team Radeon, with the AMD RX 6700 … [Read more...] about Does AMD need to announce its own GPU hashrate limiter to combat cryptocurrency mining?
Respawn and EA have unleashed the first official Apex Legends Switch trailer, and it shows off the new Switch-exclusive Pathfinder skin. Apex Legends' March 9 launch on Nintendo Switch will introduce the Legendary Pathfinder P.A.T.H. skin, seen for a few precious seconds in the above trailer. The skin will be free to Switch players who download Apex Legends for a limited time, but it's unclear if it'll become available for purchase at a later date. In addition to the exclusive Pathfinder skin, Switch players will be gifted 30 free Battle Pass levels and double XP for the first two weeks after launch. And if that's not enough incentive to dive in, the Switch version includes all up-to-date seasonal content and supports cross-platform play , which is great news considering the game is more popular than ever over on Steam. Apex Legends season 8 kicked off a month ago with the new 30-30 Repeater rifle, the Mayhem battle pass, the new gold magazines , and of course the … [Read more...] about Apex Legends’ first Switch trailer shows off exclusive Pathfinder skin
