Valve have banned Dota 2 player Carlo “Kuku” Palad from their upcoming ‘Major’ tournament in China over a racist comment he made mocking Chinese players in a non-tournament game earlier this year. Kuku’s team, TNC Predator, initially tried to pass a cover-up story and have further muddied waters with unsupported claims that Major host city Chongqing’s government threatened to cancel the tournament if he attended. Now Valve have stepped in and accused the Filipino team of behaving unprofessionally and “making the situation much worse than it needed to be.” straight-up banning Kuku from the tournament and docking TNC points on this year’s Dota Pro Circuit. “Our view on the situation is that responsibility resides with teams to handle these types of issues professionally,” a statement last night. “When they fail to do so, we will step in. While it is one thing to make a mistake and apologise, it is quite another thing … [Read more...] about Valve ban Dota 2 player from tourney over racist remark cover-up

Despite being a failure at launch, No Man’s Sky brings such a huge map which consists of more than 18 quintillions of planets, which has turned out to be a heaven for the hackers who have managed to hide Bitcoin in the game. This might be really good for the developers and also the players as Hello Games, the publisher of the game has released a new update offering multiplayer for the first time in the game which has brought a lot of players back. Since the return, two brothers have decided to hide a small amount of Bitcoin in the game in its huge map. Jon Creasy has mentioned that if you find the below locations, you can win 0.004 BTC or $30 at the current rate. It was hard for him to offer money to the players but still, he hopes that these Bitcoins will make players search the game and gather cryptocurrency. They are not going to stop there as they intend to hide Bitcoin in other games as well. As for the game, No Man’s Sky is back in action with … [Read more...] about 2 Players Have Hidden Bitcoin In The World Of No Man’s Sky, How?
Hearthstone and Elder Scrolls Legends should prepare for battle, because Valve's new fantasy card game has a release date. Artifact will launch on Steam on November 28. If you've missed the hype, the TLDR is that Valve has been hard at work on its first entry into the card game genre, showing it off to journalists back in March. Valve has changed the way Dota 2 works for Dutch players so they can see what's in a loot box before they buy it. The change comes in response to demands from the Dutch Gaming Authority about the way loot boxes work in some games. In June, Valve pulled item trading and Steam Marketplace transfers for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Dota 2 in the Netherlands in response to a threat from Dutch authorities to prosecute video game companies who failed to alter their game's design after it found some loot boxes were gambling. Valve received two letters from the Dutch Gaming Authority, stating both CS:GO and Dota 2 contained loot boxes that violated the Dutch Betting and Gaming Act. Now, Valve has gone one step further, and changed the way loot boxes work in Dota 2. As highlighted by redditor Larhf, Dutch players can now see rewards before buying a loot box. Additionally, you can't buy multiple boxes at the same time (you can buy just one at a time), and the special loot box opening … [Read more...] about Dutch Dota 2 players can now see what’s in a loot box before they buy it
Dota 2 players in the Netherlands will enjoy a little leg up on their counterparts in other nations, thanks to a newly-added ability to see what's inside loot boxes before they purchase them. A Dota 2 Treasury screenshot posted by a redditor named Larhf contains a notation stating, "Treasures in your region show their contents before opening them." The change presumably comes in response to the country's crackdown on loot boxes, which recently left Dutch CS:GO players unable to open loot cases at all. But the power to see into the future is not without some downsides. Players can no longer buy multiple boxes simultaneously, for one thing, and the loot inside is tied to your account, not the individual box, so selling them (which you can't do anyway, because the market remains disabled), trading them, or resetting your game won't have an impact: What you see inside is what you'll get the next time you open that type of chest, no matter when you do it. And the underlying … [Read more...] about Dota 2 players in the Netherlands can now see what’s in loot boxes before they buy
