It’s been 32 years since the release of a Star Wars film (well, one worth watching, anyway) and we’re just two days away from the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. See what people have been saying about it already: The Verge – Bryan Bishop, no score, positive review“Unlike the original film, which wrapped up in a relatively tidy fashion, Abrams and Kasdan have set up a series of ongoing plot lines and hanging story threads that will give the new filmmakers endless opportunities in the years to come. They’ve become the architects of a new generation of Star Wars stories, and if The Force Awakens is any indicator, the sense of adventure and potential that resonated so strongly 30 years ago will now be available for a new generation, one more diverse and far-reaching than the series ever tried to address before.“The lightsaber fights are pretty cool, too.”IGN – Terri Schwartz, 8.8/10“Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the … [Read more...] about Star Wars: Force Awakens review round-up (spoiler free) | Gamespresso
By Matthew Reynolds Published 05/07/2016 At a certain point in LEGO Star Wars Force Awakens - when you're unlocking Red Brick cheats or bonus characters - you'll be needing studs, and lots of them. How to farm studs in LEGO Star Wars Force Awakens When you unlock the Millennium Falcon mini-hub, you'll also gain access to a very short mission named Dejarik Battle. You can access this from the galaxy map, or if you prefer, from within the hub itself, where R2D2 and C-3PO are hanging about right next to where you appear when you first load into the area. The mission has you participate in an arena battle against waves of enemies. Given four hulking characters to play with, all you have to do has to spam melee attacks until every enemy is dead, then mop up the studs that … [Read more...] about LEGO Star Wars Force Awakens – How to farm studs

By Matthew Reynolds Published 02/11/2016 As with every LEGO game, you can shortcut the path to unlocking certain characters in LEGO Star Wars The Force Awakens by inserting cheat codes - handy if you're after your favourites, or need access to a character with a particular set of skills. You can do this in the game's pause menu, and then selecting 'Enter Code', and then cheat for the character you'd like. Note that unlocking them doesn't necessarily mean they are available to use right away; the vast majority of characters require you to then buy them with studs before you can take them for a spin. And remember, you can only use a character in a certain mission once you've finished it in Free Play mode, so get playing the story and each side-mission as usual, before you can jump back in with your favourites. When Sphero released its BB-8 robotic ball, co-founder and chief scientist Adam Wilson knew that he was onto something. He and his team had partnered with Lucasfilm to create the wirelessly connected replica model of the new droid in J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and the demand for it far exceeded their expectations. As Wilson and his team moved forward, they tried to come up with ways to make the toy more enjoyable; one of those ideas was to release a smartband peripheral called the Force Band. Using one of the newest versions of Bluetooth technology, the band relies on motion gesturing from the wearer to control the mini-BB-8 droid. It looks like something out of a Star Wars film, an aspect the design team worked hard on nailing, and doesn't feel heavy on your wrist. For Wilson, the main reason he decided to pursue a peripheral controlling device that both enthusiasts, fans and kids could wear was to ensure they didn't need to rely on using an iPhone or Android app. The … [Read more...] about Star Wars Force Band will control both ‘Battle Worn’ BB-8, Force Awakens model
