Starkiller Base, a Death Star glow up, was the first great weapon of the First Order. The organization planned to use the super weapon to dominate the galaxy through fear, before the Resistance was able to destroy the base, and save the galaxy — at least for a while. Despite being the cornerstone of the First Order’s plan, Starkiller Base’s history remains largely a mystery in the Star Wars universe. Fans have had guesses about the base’s origins since The Force Awakens was first released, but little hard evidence to go on. But the new video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order makes a strong connection between a lore-friendly destination and the planet which became Starkiller Base. [Ed. note: This post contains spoilers for all of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars: The Clone Wars, as well as potential spoilers for the Star Wars movie saga.] One of the most prominent guesses in the Star Wars community about Starkiller Base’s origins is that it was … [Read more...] about Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order may confirm a long held fan theory about Force Awakens

By JK Schmidt - September 13, 2019 12:09 am EDT Share 0 Comments 0 One of the biggest mysteries in the Star Wars galaxy continues to plague fans, as many people continue to wonder about the mysterious origins of former Supreme Leader Snoke. We say "former," of course, because the enigmatic Dark Side villain was unceremoniously killed by his own protégé Kylo Ren in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. But that hasn't stopped fans from wondering who Snoke actually is, in fact it's only added more flames to the fire. And while J.J. Abrams might answer that question in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, coinciding with the return of Emperor Palpatine, another comic might have teased the answer. The new issue of Age of Resistance: Supreme Leader Snoke, we get a glimpse of Kylo Ren's training regimen with the villain as the two take a trip to the iconic location of Dagobah. And during this issue, Snoke has a line that could tease a connection to … [Read more...] about New Star Wars Comic Might Have Teased Snoke’s Connection to Palpatine
By Nicole Drum - November 5, 2018 10:55 am EST Share 107 Comments 107 We need to talk about Star Wars. The latest entry in the Star Wars universe, Solo: A Star Wars Story, opened in theaters a few weeks ago and promptly failed to live up to box office expectations. Almost immediately people began to blame this on backlash against the franchise because Disney has ruined it. And the "Disney ruined Star Wars" sentiment isn't limited to Solo. It shows up in people harassing The Last Jedi star Kelly Marie Tran until she left social media. It rears its head in calls for Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy to be fired -- or worse – because of new characters or storylines. It's reached the point that one can barely mention Star Wars online without hearing about just how terrible Disney is. But here's the thing: Disney hasn't ruined Star Wars. If anything, fans have. Please hear me out. There are plenty of reasons to not be a fan of the post-Disney Star Wars … [Read more...] about No, Disney Is Not Ruining Star Wars
By Jamie Lovett - August 29, 2019 06:13 pm EDT Share 0 Comments 0 Marvel Comics today celebrated its 80th anniversary with the release ofMarvel Comics #1000. The issue is mostly focused on the familiar faces of the Marvel Universe, but it takes a detour to a galaxy far, far away. The issue marks the first appearance of Darth Vader in a Marvel Comics title that isn’t a Star Wars comic. Marvel Comics #1000 features a single-page story for each year of Marvel’s history, with each story inspired by a significant event in Marvel’s history from that year. The 1977 page is dedicated to Star Wars #1, the first-ever Star Wars comic book, which became the first Marvel comic book since the Golden Age to sell more than 1 million copies. The story is written by former Darth Vader writer Charles Soule and drawn by Terry Dodson. It shows Rebel Alliance troops examining the wreckage of an X-Wing that flew into Vader, hoping to kill the Dark Lord of the … [Read more...] about Darth Vader Makes His First Appearance In a Non-Star Wars Marvel Comic
Star Wars: The Mandalorian has captured our collective hearts with its love for Star Wars' sillier side and its breakout star, Baby Yoda (who is not actually Baby Yoda). After just two episodes, the Disney Plus original has spawned countless conversations about the mysterious baby alien, the Jawas love of The Egg, and how the show will fit into the larger Star Wars canon. The rapport between Nick Nolte's no-nonsense Ugnaught named Kuiil and Pedro Pascal's unnamed Mandalorian has also captivated us, but we've already seen this duo before. Kind of.Reddit user GlarthirLover33 (big ups to the Elder Scrolls 5: Oblivion nod) posted a screenshot on r/gaming that looks a lot like the duo from Jon Favreau's show - he even titled it The Mandalorian (2019). It's not though, it's a screenshot from the 2002 GameCube and PS2 game Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, which tasked you to hunt down Dark Jedi Komari Vosa as the Mandalorian bounty hunter Jango Fett. But you can't deny the parallels here, just look … [Read more...] about Did this 2002 Star Wars game predict The Mandalorian?
