FORTNITE star Poach, one of the game's top players, has blasted Epic Games for making cash tournaments a "slot machine" with ongoing server problems. Poach, whose team finished in 23rd out of 50 in the first Fall Skirmish event posted videos claiming to show how server issues resulted in their eliminations from three of the first four games. "Not the result we wanted but we can't just sit here and ignore how dumb those first 4 games were," he said on Twitter. Esports site Dexerto reports he went further, saying: "I can’t believe there’s money involved with [Fortnite tournaments] right now. It’s not ready. It’s just not playable. It’s literally just not playable." He went on to say that in some cases things seemed to be better than they were at the start of the Summer Skirmish, where one of the first rounds had to be abandoned entirely due to lag, and the entire format changed. Epic had admitted that August, when 78.3 million players took part in … [Read more...] about Fortnite Pro blasts Epic over ‘unplayable’ game as £8m tournament kicks off

It’s quite incredible just how far online casinos have come over the last couple of decades. They’ve changed the way we gamble completely, giving us the option to play our favourite casino games from the convenience of our own home, or on the move – and with any device we have at our fingertips. Just think that it used to be like. Gamblers would have to make infrequent trips to city centre casinos or take a pricey break to Las Vegas, Monaco or Macau. With fully-fledged virtual casinos in our pockets, the need to take time out to travel somewhere to enjoy some gambling is becoming less pertinent. And players have loved it. According to Gambling Commission figures, up to a third of all adults in the UK now use the internet to gamble on the National Lottery, online casino games, bingo and sports. Of the £13.9 billion that we spend on all forms of gambling in the UK each year, nearly £4.9 billion comes from online-only services. This huge amount of … [Read more...] about Incredible How Far Online Casinos Have Come. Take A Look!
GameMakerBlog Tutorials Simple Slot Machine Reward System If you play Adventure Capitalist then you would have probably seen the slot machine reward system that gives you a spin after you unlock certain milestones. Black Desert Online also has a type of slot machine reward system that can give you some pretty incredible rewards: a GM Advanced Lucky Box could net you a Kzarka box (or if you are like me, you end up getting armor stones…always..). One thing that they both have in common, is giving the player that thrill of getting lucky and hitting the jackpot, it is a great way to keep players engaged and wanting more. As long as it is sprinkled into the gameplay, a slot machine reward can add value and possibly monetization strategies as well, provided you do not abuse the players trust; but before you can do any of that, you need to know how to code a slot machine and that is what this article intends to accomplish. No whammies, no whammies! STOP! Slot machines may have their … [Read more...] about [GameMaker Tutorial] How to setup a simple slot machine reward system
Someone probably knows how Drake of the 99 Dragons ended up on Steam, but I can't find them. Majesco, the game's embattled publisher, has dutifully emptied their back catalog onto the service over the past few years, ostensibly with the hope that cult classics like Advent Rising and A Boy and His Blob might summon up a brief renaissance, or at least help them find some quarters in the cushions. Still, this is a weird choice. As a teenaged disciple of the games media, Drake of the 99 Dragons was the first game I remember earning a gleeful shellacking from all sides. Gamespot saddled it with a 1.6, IGN with a 2.9, and Electronic Gaming Monthly, who in those days assigned three critics each to every review, gave it a 2.5, a 2, and a 0.5, earning it the Shame of the Month. Those abysmal scores earned Drake of the 99 Dragons an ignoble reputation, but as a whole, I don't know if it quite stacks up to the comical reverence pressed upon the really bad games. You know what I'm talking about: … [Read more...] about One of the worst games of all time is now on Steam: Revisiting Drake of the 99 Dragons
A conservative estimate puts the value of the entire Neo Geo library of games - all European, US and Japanese variants - at around a quarter of a million dollars. Some of the games are so scarce that they come up for sale only once a decade. In October 2009, for example, an anonymous buyer paid $55,045.64 for the European versions of the fighting game Kizuna Encounter and the football game Ultimate 11 (as if guided by a scriptwriter's pen, the buyer carried a custom-made briefcase to meet the seller, to ensure the games remained pristinely cosy on the flight home). There are, it is estimated, fewer than ten copies of each game in existence. Even for the wealthiest game fanatic, then, there is almost no opportunity to play these games anywhere outside of a PC emulator. All this changed last year when a group of Spanish game enthusiasts released the NeoSD, a cartridge manufactured to look exactly like one of the chunky Neo Geo originals. As the name implies, the device, whose insides … [Read more...] about The SD card and the vintage video game revolution
