report this adIt’s Friday which means that Destiny 2’s unique salesman Xur has returned to the world for a limited time. Even though the exotic merchant continues to bring weapons and armor from the first year only, his arrival this week is actually more important to players than it has been in a while. The Dawning, a holiday focused seasonal event has made its return to Destiny and its changing things up this year, replacing modes like the Sparrow Racing League with Eva Levante and her baking oven. Using various ingredients acquired through playing the game and defeating certain enemies, players can craft cookies that can be handed out to various NPCs across the game. One such item, Strange Cookies, can be handed out to Xur which not only unlocks a triumph but also goes towards finishing a unique quest. Here’s where players can find the shifty merchant and what he’s selling in Destiny 2 for the weekend of December 14, 2018: Where is Xur? This week, Xur can be … [Read more...] about Destiny 2: Xur Exotic Armor, Weapon, and Recommendations for Dec 14

1. Red Dead Redemption 2 is finally here, and it might just be redefining what we expect from an open-world gameWe basically get treated to one Rockstar game per generation, (sorry, the PS4 / Xbox One release of GTA 5 doesn't count), so when one does arrive, it's a Big DealTM. Such is the case with a little game called Red Dead Redemption 2. You probably haven't heard about it. It's the prequel to the rather successful Red Dead Redemption 2 from back in 2010, and stars an outlaw by the name of Arthur Morgan, along with some other rather familiar Red Dead faces. The critical reviews so far have been outstanding, with folks praising the game for its twisting storyline, huge and rather beautiful world, and loveable rogues of characters, but for me it's the way it deals with emergent storytelling that will see Red Dead Redemption 2 mark a shift in the way we expect open-world games to behave. Everything you do has a consequence. Accidentally punch your horse rather than pet him and you'll … [Read more...] about 8 things to watch out for this week october 26
“I don’t recommend quitting your day job to anyone these days,” says Jordi de Paco with a heavy sigh. De Paco is no newcomer to the erratic world of independent game development, having worked on dozens of prototypes and multiple commercial releases over the years. But while his career has had ups and downs, he sees 2018 as the most challenging year yet for small teams. “Everyone can make games, but be realistic. ... It used to be that you could do something that nobody had ever seen before, or you could do something familiar really well. Now, it has to be innovative and have incredible quality.” De Paco says that his studio Deconstructeam managed to make a profit just off the pre-orders for its first game, Gods Will Be Watching, back in 2014. For its latest game, a 2018 cyberpunk adventure called The Red Strings Club — which received floods of enthusiastic tweets and positive reviews — sales have only started to slip into profit now, many … [Read more...] about There are too many video games. Star Wars: The Clone Wars is coming back. The series, led by Dave Filoni (who also helmed Star Wars Rebels and the upcoming Star Wars Resistance) is set to get a 12-episode conclusory season 7, which will debut on Disney's as-of-yet untitled streaming service at an unspecified point in the future. And yes, that's a lot of vagueness to deal with, but maybe this reveal trailer will help you feel a bit better about the wait:For those of you just getting caught up, here's the sitch: back in 2003, Cartoon Network partnered with animator / director Genndy Tartakovsky (Dexter's Laboratory, Samurai Jack) for an animated series set in the Star Wars universe, between the events of Attack of the Clones and the then-upcoming Revenge of the Sith. This series was dubbed "Star Wars: Clone Wars".This 2D, traditionally animated version wrapped in 2005, but Lucasfilm Animation revived the premise in 2008 with a CG-animated version, which arrived first as a feature film and soon after as a television … [Read more...] about Star Wars: The Clone Wars is getting a proper send-off after half a decade, and fans are pumped
Destiny 2's Moments of Triumph have just gone live. A kind of in-game achievements system commemorating landmark Guardian activities over the course of the game's first year, Moments of Triumph won't actually appear in-game until July 31, but you can already track your progress right now by logging in to Bungie.net. The best part? Each of the challenges in the Moments of Triumph list has an assigned points score and, in the grand tradition, points do indeed mean prizes. At certain thresholds up to the maximum score of 400, you'll gain access to new in-game loot, from Sparrows, to emblems, to a rather pretty new gilded Ghost shell. And for once, it's a proper Ghost shell, not one of the blobby, ‘90s iMac looking things we've had to deal with lately. All Triumphs work retroactively, meaning that you'll likely have completed a few already if you've been playing Destiny 2 for a while. But while some, like completing the campaign, are certainly straightforward, others require a bit of … [Read more...] about Destiny 2 Moments of Triumph guide: Conquer the biggest challenges the easy way, for the best Solstice of Heroes loot
