Deadpool's back, and this time he's bringing friends--a whole team of them actually, even though we all know just how much he loves to talk big about being above all that superheroic nonsense. They're called the X-Force, and they're making their way to the big screen in Deadpool 2, as Wade comes up against Cable for the first time in his improbable live action career. As you probably could have guessed, there's a little more to the history and the roster of the X-Force than just a bunch of people brought together by Wade Wilson putting out help wanted ads. They're a team that actually has close to 30 years of comic book history, and in that time they've been through their fair share of remixes and reinventions. The original X-Force was a product of the early '90s revolution in comics, where everything was becoming more and more xxxtreme and over the top. Like Deadpool himself, the team was conceived by creators Rob Liefeld and Fabian Nicieza, who made them as a more modern replacement … [Read more...] about Deadpool 2: Who And What Are The X-Force?

While there are a number of X-Men films in various stages of development and production, including Deadpool 2, X-Men: Dark Phoenix, and Kitty Pryde, 20th Century Fox isn't done playing with the Fantastic Four universe. In fact, it seems as though a Silver Surfer movie is secretly in the works at this very moment. That news comes from The Hollywood Reporter, which says Silver Surfer is one of several projects being developed under wraps by the studio. The only time the character was previously seen on the big screen was in 2007's Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. The project is being scripted by comics writer Brian K. Vaughan, who has plenty of Marvel and DC credits to his name--including Ultimate X-Men, Runaways, and Young Justice. However, just because a movie is in development doesn't mean it will ever see the light of day. After all, The Walt Disney Company is currently working to acquire the studio behind the X-Men and Fantastic Four film franchises. Who's to say once the … [Read more...] about Silver Surfer Movie In The Works
There is apparently another new X-Men movie in the pipelines, one that has seen 20th Century Fox bring in two long-time veterans of the mutant franchise. According to a new report from Deadline earlier today, the mysterious project will be directed by Tim Miller and written by Brian Michael Bendis. Miller is currently working on another installment in the Terminator franchise for sometime next year. The director took on the project after doing a marvelous job in bringing the “merc with a mouth” on the silver screen with Deadpool and was thrilled to do so again for the sequel. Unfortunately, he was forced to leave during pre-production because of creative differences. Bendis recently decided to take a break from Marvel Comics and work exclusively with DC Comics instead. He is a veteran scribe with a number of accolades to his name. His most notable works include Ultimate Spider-Man, Daredevil, New Avengers, All-New X-Men, Alias, House of M, Jinx, and Secret Invasion. … [Read more...] about Marvel Comics Veteran and Deadpool Director Join Forces for New X-Men Movie – Report
The new action-packed trailer released for Deadpool 2 earlier today not only introduced Cable but also featured a number of teasers and lowjabs for the audience. It calls for a trailer breakdown, obviously, to lay bare the footage for what it actually contains. The tragic origins of Cable In the comic books, Cable was infected by an incurable techno-organic virus when he was just an infant that transforms flesh and blood into living machinery. He was taken to the future to be saved but not before most of him ended up resembling a cyborg. Cable was then raised in a war-torn era and has gone back to the past numerous times in the source materials with an attitude for destruction–all for the preservation and betterment of the timeline. The future is war and chaos This is a stern reminder why Cable will be going back into the past in Deadpool 2 to prevent it all from happening. He also appears to be searching for something or someone for that matter. The action-packed sequences have … [Read more...] about Deadpool 2 Trailer Breakdown (Everything That You Missed)
The first time Taylor Kurosaki and Bob Rafei saw a running PlayStation, they were in a Las Vegas hotel room. It was the 1995 Consumer Electronics Show. They, along with the company they worked for, Naughty Dog, were being given a behind-closed-doors look at Sony's first foray into the game console industry. When they describe the event now, they use words like "inspiring" and "enthralled" and phrases like "blown away." They didn't know it at the time, but the members of Naughty Dog in that room — Kurosaki, Rafei and co-founders Jason Rubin and Andy Gavin — were looking at the system that would host the team's next game: Crash Bandicoot. They were seeing the console their company would eventually create the unofficial mascot for — the console they would develop Naughty Dog's first smash hit for. It was Kurosaki and Rafei's second day with the company. Naughty Dog released Crash Bandicoot for Sony's original PlayStation in September 1996. In it, the team took an old … [Read more...] about Crash Bandicoot: An oral history
