Seeing as how the initially announced Silent Hill was to be helmed by Hideo Kojima, it’s no surprise that Konami canceled the title after their falling out with the mind behind Metal Gear Solid. P.T was released as an Indie style horror game by Hideo as a teaser to the canceled Hill game by him and director Del Toro (Pacific Rim). Rumors spread recently of P.T itself also becoming unplayable. Konami confirmed, however, that whoever still owns P.T, are still able to play it as well. A statement from a Konami official confirmed the news as found here. It reads: “After our investigation, we can confirm that there have been no Konami or PlayStation Network (PSN) updates that would have affected or prevent access to the game.” And while this is true. The game has actually been removed from the PlayStation store itself a while ago. So the story of P.T being unplayable is only half true. Since those who owned the demo CAN still play it. But whoever missed out on … [Read more...] about No, Konami Isn’t Blocking P.T Demo, You Can Still Play It

Konami Takes Down Fan-Made P.T. Remake on PC, But It’s Not All Bad
In what appears to be an attempt to become less popular than ever, Konami has taken down a fan-made P.T. remake. However, as the developer of the remake explains via a Game Jolt post, there is a silver lining to this situation. Having spent over 180 hours working on a PC remake of Konami’s demo for the canceled Silent Hills project P.T., a collaboration between Guillermo Del Toro and Hideo Kojima, the developer was recently notified that his project would be taken down by Konami, just as it neared its completion. Reportedly, staff at Konami did not wish to take down this remake but were legally required to, many within Konami enjoying and appreciating the project. This appears to be true, as the developer has been promised merchandise and games from Konami, and more notably, offered an internship within the company. Interlinked with this internship is an apparent shift within Konami, this P.T. remake reportedly inspiring staff to return their focus to more legitimate games, with … [Read more...] about Konami Takes Down Fan-Made P.T. Intel hires another AMD employee to promote its future discrete graphics cards
Another familiar face has landed at Intel's discrete graphics division. Chris Hook, the former director of global product marketing at AMD, updated his social media profiles to reflect his new role as Intel's "discrete graphics guy." More specifically, he'll oversee discrete GPU marketing efforts at Intel.Previously Hook worked at AMD for nearly two decades (17 years) dating back to the ATI days, before leaving the company earlier this month "to pursue a new role" elsewhere that was to begin at the end of April. He didn't mention at the time what that role would be, but now we know. What's interesting about this hire is that Hook is reuniting with Raja Koduri, the former head of AMD's Radeon Technologies Group who oversaw the development of Vega before taking a sabbatical and, upon his return, jumping ship to Intel. The hire seems indicative that Intel will release a discrete gaming GPU at some point, though exactly when remains to be seen. It's worth noting that Intel hasn't actually … [Read more...] about Intel hires another AMD employee to promote its future discrete graphics cards

You can now play Silent Hills’ P.T. teaser on PC thanks to fan remakes
P.T. was the playable teaser for Silent Hills—the reboot of the Silent Hill series that was cancelled in 2015—and even though it was short it still ranks among the best horror games of all time (and certainly one of the scariest). It never made it to PC, but thanks to a couple of fan remakes you can now give it a whirl on your mouse and keyboard. The first remake is called Corridors, and is a recreation of the game in Unreal Engine 4. It's still very much a work in progress (expect bugs), and creator SmoggyChips plans to update it with more levels in the future. You can download it here, and you can see it being worked on in the video below, which also includes snatches of gameplay. The second remake comes from Redditor LinusPixel, who has extracted animation, map, and texture files from the original and tried to stitch them together in a new engine. Some of the files are difficult to work with, but you can play a very early prototype of it here. I can't wait to see … [Read more...] about You can now play Silent Hills’ P.T. teaser on PC thanks to fan remakes
