Lost Ark's Battle For the Throne of Chaos update arrives today, and it's the biggest update to Smilegate RPG and Amazon's free-to-play MMORPG yet, adding a new class, a battle pass, a new continent, numerous quality-of-life updates, and more. As detailed in the official patch notes , the new martial artist advanced class, the Glaivier, is the highlight. It's the first new class added to the Western version of Lost Ark since release. Wielding both a spear and a glaive, the Glaivier can swap between the two weapons with the press of a button, and each weapon has its own unique abilities and strengths. The glaive excels at clearing out huge groups of enemies, while the spear is ideal for poking down bosses. Of course, the Glaivier isn't the only new addition coming to Lost Ark as part of the Battle for the Throne of Chaos update. The new patch will also see the addition of the South Vern continent, where a demon army is amassing at the titular Throne of Chaos, which serves as a … [Read more...] about Lost Ark Battle For The Throne Of Chaos Update Adds Battle Pass, New Class: Full Patch Notes

Kingdom Hearts 4 Trailer Might Be Teasing A Star Wars Crossover
Square Enix's reveal of a new Kingdom Hearts game may have teased more than just a regular crossover with Disney's iconic cartoon characters, as fans spotted a brief glimpse of what appears to be the foot of an All Terrain Scout Transport. As seen in the Kingdom Hearts IV trailer , the AT-ST's foot seems to make a quick cameo at around 0:34 in the trailer, in a location that could be the forest moon of Endor: Such a crossover wouldn't be too surprising in Kingdom Hearts IV. The original games blended the worlds of Square Enix and Disney together when they were first released, as protagonist Sora teamed up with Goofy and Donald Duck to track down Mickey Mouse, eventually running into the likes of Final Fantasy VII's Sephiroth and some of Disney's greatest villains along the way. Allies from both franchises appeared as well, with Kingdom Hearts III having a strong Pixar influence in the cameo department. Disney has acquired more intellectual properties in the years since Kingdom … [Read more...] about Kingdom Hearts 4 Trailer Might Be Teasing A Star Wars Crossover

Kingdom Hearts 4 Director Explains The Game’s More Realistic Design
Kingdom Hearts IV looks set to introduce a few graphical changes to the long-running series, which includes a more mature look for protagonist Sora and other updated visual tweaks. In a new interview with Famitsu that was translated by VGC , series creator Tetsuya Nomura spoke about these changes and the world of Quadratum, which serves as an afterlife of sorts. "From Sora's perspective, Quadratum is an underworld, a fictional world that is different from reality, Nomura said. "But from the point of view of the inhabitants on the Quadratum side, the world of Quadratum is reality, and the world where Sora and the others were is the other side, the fictional world." Nomura added that Goofy and Donald Duck are searching for Sora in Kingdom Hearts IV , and if he were to return to his original reality, he'd start to resemble his more cartoonish design again so that he could fit back into his world. Dune’s new-gen open-world survival game resurfaces with new details
Funcom has revealed a few more details on its open world survival game set in the Dune universe, which will be the studio's "most ambitious project yet." The devs are currently referring to this as the "unannounced Dune survival game," which was previously confirmed as part of a three-game deal between Funcom and Legendary Entertainment signed back in 2019 . The game will be set on Arrakis, and will be focused on multiplayer. Similar to other recent informal game announcements, like Blizzard's survival game and the mobile Call of Duty: Warzone spin-off, Project Aurora , today's announcement seems to be more an effort to recruit new developers than news meant to get players excited. A few more potential details are nestled in those job listings. An Associate Game Director listing notes crafting systems, and the Lead Gameplay Programmer ad notes that the game will be developed on Unreal Engine, with planned releases for PC and console. The World … [Read more...] about Dune’s new-gen open-world survival game resurfaces with new details
