Rainbow Six Siege launched back in 2015, but if you still haven't tried it yet then you're in luck as it's free to play from February 15 until February 19 for PC, February 20 on Xbox One, or February 21 for lucky PS4 owners. For those who haven't played it before, consider it a cross between the tense, one-life-per-round firefights of Counter-Strike coupled with the unique character abilities of a MOBA that make team composition crucial. Thanks to regular updates and additional content, the roster of Operator characters keeps on expanding - and with 36 Operators (and counting) to choose from, it can be pretty overwhelming for anyone who's just starting. That's where this guide comes in. The following Operators are great picks for anyone learning the ins and outs of Rainbow Six Siege, and will help you grasp the fundamentals of playing both the Attacker and Defender sides. With one exception, these Operators are all from separate special forces units, meaning they'll have the cheapest … [Read more...] about The best Rainbow Six Siege Operators for beginners

Rainbow Six Siege Outbreak Event Announced, Game’s Pricing Is Changing
Operators get ready, the Rainbow Six Siege Outbreak Event is coming and will be free for everyone, bringing a new mode and exclusive cosmetics to the game. Along with the new event, the pricing in Rainbow Six Siege’s editions will be changed to match Season 3’s updates and new content. As announced by Ubisoft, Outbreak is a four-week event where all Rainbow Six owners will be able to team-up with two of their friends to take on a mysterious threat. There was a whole ARG going on about this particular event, indicating that it revolves around zombies and surviving. We still don’t have information about Outbreak mode’s gameplay but we won’t be so surprised if it was something like Call of Duty Nazi Zombies. This free event will begin with the launch of the Year 3 Season 1 title update. Throughout the Rainbow Six Siege Outbreak Event, players can get cosmetic items found in Outbreak packs, which can be found by either buying the game or 300 R6 … [Read more...] about Rainbow Six Siege Outbreak Event Announced, Game’s Pricing Is Changing
Rainbow Six Siege Operation White Noise mid-season patch nerfs Ela, Ash, concussion effects
Rainbow Six Siege developer Ubisoft has kicked off this year’s balance updates with the Operation White Noise mid-season patch. The update goes live today on Rainbow Six Siege’s test servers, bringing a host of balance changes and bug fixes, as is typical with mid-season patches. Some of these, like the Ela nerf, were communicated ahead of time. Ubisoft did not set a date for when patch 4.2 will hit live servers just yet. Starting off with Ela, her SMG’s magazine size has been lowered from 50 to 40 bullets. This was done partially to make her less desirable as a pick, since she’s very popular right now which is affecting the metagame. Ela is also getting another nerf, but that’s because concussion effects are getting reduced across the board. Both Ela, and Zofia will be affected by this. Concussion will no longer disable sprinting, but will still to cut movement and camera rotation speed. Concussed players will be able to recover in four seconds instead of … [Read more...] about Rainbow Six Siege Operation White Noise mid-season patch nerfs Ela, Ash, concussion effects
Ela nerfed again in the Rainbow Six Siege ‘Mid-Season Reinforcements’ update
The Rainbow Six Siege patch 4.2, also known as the Operation White Noise Mid-Season Reinforcements, is now live on the technical test server. The update nerfs Ela, with reductions to her SMG magazine size from 50 rounds to 40 and also to the effects of her concussive mines, which will still reduce the movement speed of enemies caught in their impact zone but will no longer disable sprinting. "Ela overpowers her competition. Players select her almost every round, and for a good reason. All of the data we have on her (such as win ratio, K/D ratio, and Kills per round) shows that she needs to be nerfed. We have found this to be primarily because of her SMG and to a lesser extent her concussion mines," Ubisoft wrote in the patch notes. The SMG was nerfed slightly in a previous update, but it wasn't enough to achieve the desired effect. "For now, we’re trying to balance her while keeping her SMG’s uniqueness, which lets her fight several opponents at a time better … [Read more...] about Ela nerfed again in the Rainbow Six Siege ‘Mid-Season Reinforcements’ update
Rainbow Six Siege Patch 4.2 Finally Buffs Capitao’s Para-308, Nerfs Ash and Twitch
The mid-season reinforcements update for Operation White Noise is finally here for Rainbow Six Siege. It is scheduled to hit the Technical Test Server (TTS) tomorrow, and will then grace the live servers sometime next week. Patch 4.2 brings significant changes to several operators in the game, some of which have frequently been requested by the community for several quarters now. Fair to say, the following operators are set to find new standings in the meta. The raw damage of the Para-308 is finally being increased for Capitao and the overall amount of recoil has also been slightly reduced. The primary weapon for the Brazilian operator, as well as his other offensive options, endured a severe gutting a while back. Ubisoft hopes that he will become a popular pick once again with the new buffs. Twitch and Ash, two staple picks in Rainbow Six Siege these days, are being nerfed for balance. The maximum amount of ammunition for the Shock Drone is being reduced to just 5 from 15 for Twitch. … [Read more...] about Rainbow Six Siege Patch 4.2 Finally Buffs Capitao’s Para-308, Nerfs Ash and Twitch
