After two successful years of post-launch content, Rainbow Six Siege continues to defy expectations as its fan base and popularity continues to grow. To keep that momentum rolling, Ubisoft is preparing content for Year 3, bringing even more maps and operators to the game. Thanks to a recent blog post from Ubisoft, Operation Chimaera is a little less mysterious ahead of its expected March 6 release date, as the developer provided a few additional nuggets of information. In a first for the multiplayer-oriented shooter, Rainbow Six Siege is getting a co-op event called Outbreak. Taking place in the town of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, three players work together to fight and neutralize an epidemic that has broken out. Though Ubisoft hasn’t revealed the type of enemies players will be facing off against or if this is a wave defense-style mode, the company did confirm that Outbreak will only be around for a limited time and offer new gameplay mechanics as well. Since its … [Read more...] about Rainbow Six Siege Details Operation Chimera and New Operators

Rainbow Six Siege: Operation Chimera’s new operators bring drones and nanobots to the fight
Ubisoft has shared a sneak peek into the upcoming Rainbow Six Siege Year 3 Season 1 expansion Operation Chimera, which will add a pair of new operators to the game and the co-op Outbreak mode, set on a new map based in a small town in New Mexico that's struggling with some unusual problems. The nationalities of the new operators—one from Russia, the other from France—were revealed in November of last year, but today's tease gives the first details about what they bring to the party. The French operator, with an astounding service record and a long list of regrets (I have no idea how that impacts TTK), uses a drone to maintain the perimeter in quarantined areas, while the Russian specialist (who may not actually be Russian, the announcement says they moved to the country to pursue their studies) employs "self-dissolving nanobots" that can apparently be put to use in a number of different ways. Maybe these nanobots provide a temporary buff to him, or teammates? … [Read more...] about Rainbow Six Siege: Operation Chimera’s new operators bring drones and nanobots to the fight
Rainbow Six Siege Outbreak Event Announced, Features Premium Cosmetic Loot Boxes
A new Rainbow Six Siege event has been confirmed, and it sounds like it's going to be much different from what players are used to. Outbreak involves teams of three players teaming up to take on a "mysterious threat" in a town that has been quarantined, and there will be new gear up for grabs.Outbreak takes the form of a four-week event that is available to all players. Here's how Ubisoft sets up the backstory of what's going on: "An infestation of unknown origin is attacking the small town of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. The danger is so high that the authorities quarantined the entire town, trapping civilians and soldiers inside. Very little information is filtering out, but the only certainty is that the situation is dire."This is the culmination of an ARG that has been going on recently, which hinted at new content and what sounded like a mode that would involve zombies. Unfortunately, there's still little information about what you'll actually be doing, but Ubisoft says … [Read more...] about Rainbow Six Siege Outbreak Event Announced, Features Premium Cosmetic Loot Boxes
Rainbow Six Siege Outbreak Event Announced, Game’s Pricing Is Changing
Operators get ready, the Rainbow Six Siege Outbreak Event is coming and will be free for everyone, bringing a new mode and exclusive cosmetics to the game. Along with the new event, the pricing in Rainbow Six Siege’s editions will be changed to match Season 3’s updates and new content. As announced by Ubisoft, Outbreak is a four-week event where all Rainbow Six owners will be able to team-up with two of their friends to take on a mysterious threat. There was a whole ARG going on about this particular event, indicating that it revolves around zombies and surviving. We still don’t have information about Outbreak mode’s gameplay but we won’t be so surprised if it was something like Call of Duty Nazi Zombies. This free event will begin with the launch of the Year 3 Season 1 title update. Throughout the Rainbow Six Siege Outbreak Event, players can get cosmetic items found in Outbreak packs, which can be found by either buying the game or 300 R6 … [Read more...] about Rainbow Six Siege Outbreak Event Announced, Game’s Pricing Is Changing
Rainbow Six Siege Operation White Noise mid-season patch nerfs Ela, Ash, concussion effects
Rainbow Six Siege developer Ubisoft has kicked off this year’s balance updates with the Operation White Noise mid-season patch. The update goes live today on Rainbow Six Siege’s test servers, bringing a host of balance changes and bug fixes, as is typical with mid-season patches. Some of these, like the Ela nerf, were communicated ahead of time. Ubisoft did not set a date for when patch 4.2 will hit live servers just yet. Starting off with Ela, her SMG’s magazine size has been lowered from 50 to 40 bullets. This was done partially to make her less desirable as a pick, since she’s very popular right now which is affecting the metagame. Ela is also getting another nerf, but that’s because concussion effects are getting reduced across the board. Both Ela, and Zofia will be affected by this. Concussion will no longer disable sprinting, but will still to cut movement and camera rotation speed. Concussed players will be able to recover in four seconds instead of … [Read more...] about Rainbow Six Siege Operation White Noise mid-season patch nerfs Ela, Ash, concussion effects
