Lost Ark's next major update is on the horizon, but when it does arrive on June 30, it won't include a previously promised feature--Yoz's Jar. In a new blog post outlining features coming to the free-to-play MMO in the Wrath of the Covetous Legion update, Lost Ark's Western publisher Amazon states the Yoz's Jar cosmetics system described in the game's recent roadmap won't be featured in the upcoming update as originally planned. The jar would have introduced a new cosmetic system into Lost Ark, and while it was primarily just for fashion purposes, epic and legendary skins obtained through Yoz's Jar would have granted 1% or 2% attack power increases, depending on rarity. Yoz's Jar cosmetics would have been obtainable from the in-game store via Royal Crystals. The skins could then be sold on the player-to-player market. Players can exchange non-premium currencies like gold for premium ones like Royal Crystals through an in-game exchange system. Therefore, it would have … [Read more...] about Lost Ark June Update Will Not Include Pay-To-Win Cosmetics, Amazon Says

Obi-Wan Kenobi finale includes one detail that changes a key Vader scene in Return of the Jedi
A new Star Wars fan theory suggests the Obi-Wan Kenobi finale has answered a lingering original trilogy question involving Darth Vader. Spoilers for Obi-Wan Kenobi episode 6 follow. Darth Vader unmasking himself as he lay dying at the end of Return of the Jedi has stayed with several generations of Star Wars fans. OH LORD pic.twitter.com/gjwlBZjtR3 June 22, 2022 See more Obi-Wan and Vader fought on an unnamed planet midway through the sixth episode. Under The Shadow director Babak Anvari talks his new “Hitchcockian neo-noir crime thriller”
With Under the Shadow and Wounds , British-Iranian filmmaker Babak Anvari announced himself as a bracingly fresh voice in the supernatural horror genre. But there’s more than one string to Anvari’s fearsome bow, as evidenced by I Came By, a "Hitchcockian neo-noir crime thriller" that also proves the British film industry doesn’t make them like it used to. "I find it interesting that we’ve lost touch with the whole Hitchcockian genre in Britain," Anvari tells Total Film in the new issue, featuring Thor: Love and Thunder on the cover . "So it’s really exciting for me to take inspiration from the master and try to do something in that vein, in modern times." Set in contemporary inner-city London, the film stars George MacKay as Toby and Percelle Ascott as Jay, graffiti artists and income-inequality avengers who break into the homes of the city’s wealthy elite only to tag their walls with a three-word insignia – 'I Came By' – before slipping away into the night. "It’s … [Read more...] about Under The Shadow director Babak Anvari talks his new “Hitchcockian neo-noir crime thriller”

The Obi-Wan Kenobi series proves Darth Vader needs his own Disney Plus show
Warning: Spoilers for Obi-Wan Kenobi ahead! Turn back now if you haven't seen the entire series! Obi-Wan Kenobi has proved once and for all that Darth Vader deserves his own spin-off show. Now, hear me out, you might be thinking that the Skywalker Saga already contains more than enough Vader, but – as the Obi-Wan show has proved – there's always more story to tell. In fact, Obi-Wan Kenobi had some of the best Darth Vader scenes ever. Whether the Sith Lord was tearing transports from the sky , dragging Obi-Wan through flames , or simply opening his eyes in a bacta tank , the internet could not get enough. We've never seen Vader quite like this before: even in Rogue One , which saw him slice through countless Rebels on a quest to recapture the Death Star plans, he wasn't quite as terrifying as the Vader we saw slaughtering his way through a village or besting a vengeful Reva using only the Force. Unleashing Vader in his own spin-off would let us see even … [Read more...] about The Obi-Wan Kenobi series proves Darth Vader needs his own Disney Plus show
Final Fantasy Record Keeper is closing down after seven years
Seven years after its release, fans are bidding farewell to Final Fantasy Record Keeper. Despite having the word final in its title, Square Enix's long-running RPG series shows no signs of stopping. With Final Fantasy 16 set to release next year and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth announced as the second instalment in the remake trilogy, there's certainly a lot for fans to get excited about. But one fantasy that is coming to an end is the free-to-play mobile title Final Fantasy Record Keeper . Square Enix has announced it's pulling the plug on Final Fantasy Record Keeper on September 29. With the gacha game officially shutting down, gems will no longer be available to purchase from August 30. Square Enix hasn't given a reason for its decision, but perhaps the game's player base has dwindled since its launch over seven years ago on March 25, 2015. "We make this announcement with a heavy heart, but hope you will be left with fond memories of adventure once this journey … [Read more...] about Final Fantasy Record Keeper is closing down after seven years
