Destiny developer Bungie has big plans for the future. The company has re-confirmed its plans to launch its mysterious new IP by 2025, while the company is expanding the physical size of its Bellevue, Washington office and opening a brand-new publishing outfit in Amsterdam. Additionally, Bungie has teased plans to extend the Destiny franchise beyond games, while there has been a leadership shakeup on the development team as well. New IP Bungie said it plans to launch a new IP before 2025, but nothing is known about this game. In 2018, the Chinese internet company invested $100 million into Bungie to help the company make non-Destiny games, so this new IP might be one of them. Bungie CEO Pete Parsons first mentioned his hope of releasing the new, non-Destiny IP by 2025 back in 2019, but this is the first time Bungie is cementing that hope in writing. Bungie has promoted Jonny Ebbert to chief creative officer and Zach Russell to general manager of incubation to work on … [Read more...] about Bungie Confirms New IP To Launch By 2025 And Plans To Expand Destiny Into “Additional Media”

Zack Snyder Explains Why Jared Leto’s Joker Is In His Justice League Movie
One of the most surprising revelations about Zack Snyder's director's cut of Justice League is that the film will feature the return of the Joker, as portrayed by Jared Leto--who reprises his role from the Suicide Squad movie. The addition raises so many questions about the new version of the film and what it could mean for the future. Thankfully, Snyder gave some context during IGN's Fan Fest . The director also shared a new clip of the movie and revealed that multiple versions of the film will be released--some potentially in theaters. As seen in a trailer for Justice League, Joker appears in Batman's Knightmare vision of a post-apocalyptic world that was first seen in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. How that fits into this movie and whether it's actually a version of the future or merely a dream remains to be seen, though it could have something to do with the cliffhanger that will end the Snyder Cut . Regardless, that setting was too tempting for Snyder to not … [Read more...] about Zack Snyder Explains Why Jared Leto’s Joker Is In His Justice League Movie
New Zack Snyder’s Justice League Clip Is Filled With Easter Eggs
It won't be long before fans will finally be able to watch Zack Snyder's director's cut of Justice League --complete with Jared Leto reprising his role as the Joker--on HBO Max when it releases on March 18. Until then, though, you have to sustain on trailers and clips released in anticipation of the film--including the newest one released during IGN's Fan Fest . The clip, which doesn't actually feature any of the actors from Justice League, was something Snyder was working on before he originally left the film. The director explained that he didn't know if it would be used as an opening credits sequence or promotional material released ahead of the film. In it, a Mother Box is shown, documenting the history of the DC universe's superheroes. And while it looks impressive, it's going to be something fans are going to want to study closely. "There's a million Easter eggs in it," Snyder teased during the panel. He continued, "I feel like it's important for everyone to … [Read more...] about New Zack Snyder’s Justice League Clip Is Filled With Easter Eggs
Date set for Apple v Epic Games trial
The battle between Epic Games and Apple over in-game microtransactions is still rumbling on, and after months of arguing it seems a date has finally been set for an in-person trial. Yep, it seems this one is going all the way. Yesterday a management conference was held in the US District Court for the Northern District of California, in which judge Yvonne Gonzalez organised a bench trial between Epic Games and Apple (as reported by MacRumors ). A date has now been officially set for 3rd May, which will require witnesses to travel to Northern California to appear at court in person. The reason for the physical trial is that judge Gonzalez feels the case is serious enough that it should be heard in person, and believes witnesses are less likely to lie when being sworn in a courtroom. Those required to travel will apparently be given the resources to quarantine for two weeks after the trial, while other Covid safety measures will also be taken, such as limited numbers of people in … [Read more...] about Date set for Apple v Epic Games trial

We're finally getting a little closer to the release of Rust's elusive console version, as developers Double Eleven and Facepunch have released a new trailer - and opened up registration for a closed beta. The trailer itself doesn't show anything particularly revolutionary - it's Rust, looking quite nice on console - and we don't yet have a release date for the final product, but you can put your name in the ring for access to the closed beta. You can sign up over here , and if selected, you'll be sent a key to access the beta. According to the new Rust Console Edition Twitter account , some players have apparently already been sent keys, but according to the FAQs more players will gradually be given access over the next few weeks, with this particular window of beta testing due to end on 29th March. Rust was originally supposed to launch on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 sometime last year, but the port had to be delayed due to the difficulties of working from home during the … [Read more...] about Rust Console Edition gets new trailer and closed beta
