If you’re a fan of Pinball FX3 then you’ll soon have some new content to sink your teeth into. Today, developer and publisher Zen Studios announced that it has partnered with Disney and Lucasfilm to bring brand new DLC based entirely on Star Wars: The Last Jedi to the popular pinball title. To put it simply, the DLC includes two new tables. First off is a simple The Last Jedi-themed table, full of characters such as Rey and Captain Phasma, locations like Ahch-To and Crait, and vehicles like TIE Fighters and V-4X-D Ski Speeders. The other table included with this new content is entirely based on the planet of Ahch-To, the location where Rey finds Luke and asks him to train her in the ways of the Jedi. And of course, what Ahch-To table would be complete without some adorable Porgs being featured. To celebrate the announcement of the DLC, a brand new trailer was released, which shows off both of the new tables. You can check it out at the end of the … [Read more...] about Pinball FX3 Getting Star Wars: The Last Jedi-themed Tables
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is coming to home video in digital and physical formats — including 4K ultra HD, a first for the Star Wars franchise — starting in mid-March, Lucasfilm and Disney announced today. [Note: If you haven’t seen Star Wars: The Last Jedi yet, maybe don’t watch the trailer above, which contains a few spoilery shots.] Although the first 4K Blu-ray Disc movies arrived in early 2016, Disney was slow to adopt the format. Neither 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens nor 2016’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story — nor the original or prequel trilogies — is currently available in 4K, not even digitally. Disney did not release a movie on 4K Blu-ray until Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in August 2017. In addition to 4K resolution, The Last Jedi’s home video releases will offer support for Dolby Atmos audio as well as high dynamic range (HDR) color via Dolby Vision. That means The Last Jedi will be Disney’s first 4K Blu-ray … [Read more...] about The Last Jedi will be the first Star Wars 4K home video release
Outside of Jar Jar Binks and ewoks, there’s no creature in the Star Wars universe more divisive than porgs. [Warning: The following contains minor spoilers for Star Wars: The Last Jedi.] Introduced in The Last Jedi, porgs are “small, flat-muzzled avians that flock about the rocks and roost in the cliffs of Luke Skywalker’s secluded island” of Ahch-To, according to the official Star Wars website. They make high-pitched, squeal-like noises to communicate and sport sad, pathetic looks on their faces. They’re small, feathery creatures that, depending on the type of person you are, are either perceived as adorable or loathsome. Even The Last Jedi cast members themselves are divided on the issue. John Boyega, who plays Finn in the movie, told Jimmy Kimmel that he hates porgs, adding that the small birds give him the creeps. Mark Hamill, who plays Luke Skywalker, doesn’t have a problem with them. Of all the actors, however, it’s the master of … [Read more...] about Porgpinions: Are Star Wars’ newest creatures delightful or distracting?
If we got to start over and do something again, would we change anything? We’ve all had life-affirming moments that we really wish we could end up pressing the rewind button on. Rian Johnson, though? He’s sticking to his guns (or should that be blasters?); for Johnson, there’s nothing he’d change about Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Speaking to /Film, The Last Jedi director was unequivocal in his response to fan backlash – OTT or otherwise – by saying, “There’s nothing I’ve read or seen that’s made me think, ‘Oh god, I did kind of mess that up, I would’ve done that differently if I could go back,'” he says. “I still genuinely believe in all the decisions I’ve made.” Johnson had absolutely no need to respond so the more power to him for coming out and facing the music, as it were. Having said that, I’m still scarred for life by Chewie eating a roasted Porg. Not cool, Rian. Not. Cool. The … [Read more...] about Given a second chance, Rian Johnson wouldn’t change a single thing about Star Wars: The Last Jedi
