It appears you'll still be able to answer the Call of Duty on PlayStation in the future, despite Microsoft's pending acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer made the announcement just a few days after the acquisition was revealed, answering one of players' most-pressing questions. Speaking on Twitter, Spencer said Microsoft intends to "honor all existing agreements upon acquisition of Activision Blizzard and our desire to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation." Had good calls this week with leaders at Sony. I confirmed our intent to honor all existing agreements upon acquisition of Activision Blizzard and our desire to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation. Sony is an important part of our industry, and we value our relationship. — Phil Spencer (@XboxP3) January 20, 2022 There were questions regarding Call of Duty's position as an Xbox exclusive in the future, but Spencer's statement appears to put those to bed--at least for now. It's also possible … [Read more...] about Call Of Duty Will Still Release On PlayStation, Xbox Head Phil Spencer Says

Xbox Series X and S enhancements include faster loading times, quick resume support and the performance mode (60fps on Xbox Series X and S in 1080p) and the quality mode (native 4K on Xbox Series X). That's right - the poor old Xbox Series S isn't powerful enough to run Peppa Pig in 4K. And no console, it seems, is powerful enough to run Peppa Pig at 4K and 60fps. … [Read more...] about My Friend Peppa Pig gets the next-gen upgrade it deserves
Assassin's Creed developer Ubisoft has said it has ideas in place for the series' eventual ending - whenever that might be. In a conversation with Eurogamer, Assassin's Creed 4 game director Ashraf Ismail explained the franchise's bosses had a rough idea of how they wanted the series to finish. "We have multiple development teams, then we have the brand team that sits on top and is filled with writers and designers concerned with the series' overall arc," Ismail explained. "So there is an overall arc, and each iteration has its place inside this. "We have an idea of where the end is, what the end is. But of course Yves [Guillemot, Ubisoft's overall boss] announced we are a yearly title, we ship one game a year. So depending on the setting, depending on what fans want, we've given ourselves room to fit more in this arc. But there is an end." "We have an idea of where the end is, what the end is. But of course Yves announced we are a yearly title." One advantage of having … [Read more...] about “There is an end” to the Assassin’s Creed series, Ubisoft says
Eurogamer : What do you say when people accuse Dragon Age II of being a console game? Mike Laidlaw : There may be some element of... I guess it's fear that if the PC has certain capabilities and they're not being used 100 per cent of the way then the game must have inherently had things removed because of that. I can understand that. I paid a fair amount of money for my gaming rig and I love to be able to crank it up and push it up. But the simple truth is that PC gaming has never been a platform of a single hardware spec. You've always had to support both lower-end and higher-end PCs. You don't want to design a game that cuts out everyone except the guy who bought his computer this month. Origins had this legacy of being designed for PC. That was an early and strong opening message when it was first announced in yesteryear, back when we were working on Jade Empire, which was for console. There's definitely a sense that if you didn't design it for PC only then there's some sense … [Read more...] about BioWare’s Mike Laidlaw: A defence of Dragon Age II • Page 2
The room shifts ever so slightly to the right, back to centre, then left and back again. Lightbulbs flicker above, then pop like bubble wrap. A child's xylophone plays a looping, unsettling melody against the omnipresent purr of a ship's engine somewhere in the distance. You ease tentatively down the red carpeted aisle of the lunch hall as its bloated patrons moan through contorted expressions and slump to the floor before you. When the closing 10 minutes of a horror game evokes everything from Greek mythology to the works of Guillermo del Toro, Tim Burton, Hunter S. Thompson, and Roald Dahl in one swoop, it's doing something right. Little Nightmares is bloody terrifying, right to the very end. "Ultimately, you're a small child in a wilderness not meant for children. And with that, everything is planned so meticulously on a design level, from the layout of levels, to movement patterns of enemies, the timing of scares, and audio cues," says Little Nightmares senior producer Lucas … [Read more...] about Creativity and risk are driving modern horror games – but where does the genre go next?
WWE 2K22's cover star has reportedly been leaked, and it's Rey Mysterio. Though entirely an unsubstantiated rumor for now – even the most impressive cover art turns out to be fakes from time to time – the Twitter account of TechnikNews shares what it purports to be an "exclusive first look" at the PS5 cover image. We've also learned details of an alleged pre-order bonus – more on that in a tick – plus details of an Early Access period that will reportedly be open to pre-orderers of certain (usually the more expensive) "editions" of the sports sim, which is rumored to kick off on March 8, 2022 - just in time for that undated release sometime in March .
