Kinetic Games, developer of indie smash horror Phasmophobia, has unveiled a raft of changes coming to the ghost detective game, including a new accessibility feature and quality of life improvements. "Over the past few months there has been a beta branch running with regular experimental updates," the developer said in an update shared over the weekend. "With these updates the game has been fixed, optimised and changed in various ways to improve the gameplay for everyone. "Some of these changes are quite significant however these changes are made to improve the overall gameplay experience. This update now puts the game into a much more stable state which will allow for new content to start being worked on." Teardown has Steam Workshop now, and that means there’s a physics gun
Demolition simulator turned destructive puzzle-heist Teardown updated with Steam Workshop support on March 4th , and players have already gotten to work on some great new maps, playgrounds, minigames, and tools. Specifically: Modder Fall Guy 2106 has obviously made a Garry's Mod-style physics gun and a Half-Life 2 gravity gun for Teardown. There are great maps to play with that new reality-defying tool in as well. The neato Junkyard map has a load of cool toys to smash cars with. Banana Republic gives you a great little built-up urban a rea to blow into pieces. Try dropping a semi truck on a gas station. My favorite mod, however, is definitely the " Not Great, Not Terrible Nuclear Facility ." It's a nuclear power plant with a mere 3.6 Roentgen background radiation. Teardown's community didn't wait for modding to start making incredible things, however. They were already turning 3D scans of real places into Teardown maps months ago. Teardown on Steam for $20 … [Read more...] about Teardown has Steam Workshop now, and that means there’s a physics gun
EA responds to fan backlash to in-game ads in UFC 4
UPDATE 06/09/20: EA has now removed in-game ads from UFC 4 after fans flooded the company's social channels with complaints. In a statement to Eurogamer that was also posted on Reddit , EA said: "Earlier this week, the team turned on ad placements in EA SPORTS UFC 4 that appeared during the “Replay” moments in gameplay. "It is abundantly clear from your feedback that integrating ads into the Replay and overlay experience is not welcome. The advertisements have been disabled by the team and we apologize for any disruption to gameplay that players may have experienced. "We realize that this should have been communicated with players ahead of time and that's on us. We want to make sure our players have the best possible experience playing EA SPORTS UFC 4, so ad integration in the Replay and overlay experience … [Read more...] about EA responds to fan backlash to in-game ads in UFC 4
Ex-Activision Pioneers Form Audacity Games, Will Develop New Atari 2600 Titles
The Atari 2600 is decades old, but a few industry pioneers aren't giving up on the system yet. Alongside ex-Activision game designers Garry and Dan Kitchen, Activision co-founder David Crane has formed Audacity Games to develop entirely new games on the console--and that's just the beginning. Audacity Games is a new publisher "focused on designing and publishing boxed game products for a variety of retro game systems," the company said in a press release. That means creating new experiences and publishing them for the extremely retro hardware. Because it's 2021, however, those who buy the games will also get a download code that can run on Stella and Retron, if you can't manage to track down an Atari 2600. Every release comes with a download of a digital version (with the same serial number) which is Stella emulator compatible. — Garry Kitchen (@kitchengarry) March 7, 2021 "For years our fans have been asking us to create new games. We heard you, and have decided to do just … [Read more...] about Ex-Activision Pioneers Form Audacity Games, Will Develop New Atari 2600 Titles
