It's a brand new month, which means a new issue of PC Gamer ready to grace your local supermarkets and doorsteps. World Book Day 2021: Eurogamer’s reading recommendations
It's World Book Day! And while we mainly do our work via video games, we're relatively sure that most of the staff can read. Probably? Actually, maybe best not to ask. Still, we know at least some of them can, as we amassed a whole range of recommendations on what the Eurogamer crew is reading outside of work. If you're looking for new reading material and hoping for something superb to bookend your weekends, we've got some advice on where to begin. Or head to the page we put together on Jelly Deals for everything you need to know on how to make the most of World Book Day! Tom Philips: Skyfaring: A Journey with a Pilot I'm now one of those people converted by Chris Donlan into recommending Skyfaring to anyone. Written by veteran British Airways pilot Mark Vanhoenacker, this book offers an experienced, inquisitive and infectiously romantic view of the wonders of flight - and it's one I frequently find myself dipping back into while stuck at home and on the ground. A couple of … [Read more...] about World Book Day 2021: Eurogamer’s reading recommendations
New on ComiXology Unlimited (March 2021): All the comics and manga arriving
There is a plethora of comic books coming to Amazon's ComiXology Unlimited digital comics reading service in march - Marvel, DC, Image Comics, IDW Publishing, Boom! Studios, and more… but one big thing stands out. Vertigo. The complete runs of the original Hellblazer (300 issues!), Preacher (66 issues!), and Lucifer series (75 issues!) have been added to ComiXology Unlimited this month. In addition, over 200 issues of various Swamp Thing series have also been added. No specific reason has been given for this Vertigo-centric comics dump, but in some cases, it's best not to complain and just start reading (or re-reading, as the case may be). Some decidedly un-Vertigo fare being added as well this month is a heaping helping of Disney cartoon tales. Several collections have been added of Mickey House, Donald Duck, Donald and Mickey, Uncle Scrooge, and DuckTales. Staying on that anthropomorphic tip, there's also Snoopy: Beagle of Mars and six volumes of Garfield arriving this … [Read more...] about New on ComiXology Unlimited (March 2021): All the comics and manga arriving
Smash Bros. Ultimate’s latest new characters arrive tomorrow
Pyra and Mythra, the latest characters to join Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, will become available in-game tomorrow here in the UK. You can swap between the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 duo at any point during battle, as detailed this afternoon in a deep dive on their mechanics presented by Smash Bros. boss Masahiro Sakurai. In short, Pyra's focus is power while Mythra favours speed. Pick the right fighter for the job! Today's presentation also revealed a set of Monster Hunter and Ghosts 'N Goblins Mii Fighter costumes coming to Smash Bros. at the same time. (This suggests Monster Hunter will probably not be one of the remaining DLC characters.) Pyra and Mythra are the fourth DLC to be released as part of Smash Bros. Ultimate's second Fighters Pass, which also includes Final Fantasy's Sephiroth, Minecraft's Steve and Alex, plus Min Min from Arms. Another two DLC characters are due, before support for Ultimate finally wraps up. … [Read more...] about Smash Bros. Ultimate’s latest new characters arrive tomorrow
More Pokemon Sword And Shield Freebies Available For A Limited Time
Pokemon Sword and Shield players can claim another in-game freebie for a limited time. As a reward for defeating a ton of Gigantamax Pikachu during the games' recent Max Raid event , The Pokemon Company is distributing a bundle of free Armorite and Dynite Ore. These items are normally hard to get in Sword and Shield, so you won't want to miss your chance to grab this free bundle. The overarching goal of the event was to defeat 1 million Pikachu. If players could collectively hit that total, The Pokemon Company promised to give away 100 Armorite Ore and 100 Dynite Ore. Unfortunately, players fell a little short; only 874,808 Pikachu were ultimately defeated during the event. Although the goal wasn't met, The Pokemon Company is still distributing 87 of each ore to all players as a reward. To claim the free items, simply open the Mystery Gift menu and select the Receive via Internet option. The free ore will be available until 11:59 PM UTC on March 14, so you'll need to claim it … [Read more...] about More Pokemon Sword And Shield Freebies Available For A Limited Time
