The official Pokemon Twitter account either just dropped a teaser for Pokemon Diamond and Pearl remakes, or it couldn't pass up a good rhyme no matter the consequences. Fans have been clamoring for Pokemon Diamond and Pearl remakes for years, and they became even more feverish once a frequent leaker claimed late last year that they were coming in November 2021 . Then fans dug up an even older alleged leak that claimed Diamond and Pearl remakes in the style of Pokemon Let's Go, Pikachu and Eevee were coming . New Pokémon games set in Diamond & Pearl's Sinnoh region are coming to Nintendo Switch later this year and in 2022. Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl will launch in late 2021, and see a retro-styled return to Sinnoh. Characters have a chibi-style on the overworld, not dissimilar to the Link's Awakening remake, but will be full-size in battles. An open-world Sinnoh game set in a more feudal version of the region will then follow next year, more similar in style to Pokémon Sword and Shield. It's called Pokémon Legends Arceus, and it's due in early 2022. Old school Pokéballs and a mix of previous starter Pokémon feature in this game, though how it will connect with the Pokémon God is being kept under wraps. Nintendo announced remakes of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl in its 25th-anniversary stream today: Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will release later this year on Nintendo Switch. Rumors were swirling that The Pokemon Company would unveil remakes of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl as part of its Pokemon 25th anniversary celebration--and sure enough, we got our first look at Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl during the February 2021 Pokemon Presents stream. That the remakes are indeed coming is not in itself surprising; The Pokemon Company has been steadily remaking older entries in the series, and Diamond and Pearl were the next in line to be modernized. Pokemon Diamond and Pearl remakes have been confirmed as part of today's Pokemon Direct showcase. The new games, titled Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, are remaks of the fourth-generation games, which released in 2006 for the Nintendo DS, and saw players explore the Sinnoh region. Battling looks a lot like the style adopted in Sword and Shield, but the rest of the world takes on a cute, almost chibi-style animation, not dissimilar to the art direction adopted for the remake of Link's Awakening.
