Genshin Impact's mobile edition is an absolute juggernaut, as Sensor Tower is reporting that the game brought in around $874 million from its microtransactions since launch at the end of September 2020. Genshin Impact is a success globally, as it ranks third in terms of revenue on iOS and Google Play, only trailing Tencent's Honor of Kings and PUBG Mobile, both of which have made over $1 billion from microtransactions over the past five months. Genshin Impact's $874 million outpaces the amount of money that Pokemon Go and Roblox made on mobile over the past five months, but those games are considerably older. Genshin Impact is, however, the highest-grossing mobile RPG worldwide. It brings in around $175 million each month from microtransactions. These results do not capture the full extent of Genshin Impact's success, as the game is also available on PS4 and PC. Also bear in mind that all of these numbers are estimates that come from SensorTower and not directly from the … [Read more...] about Genshin Impact Made $874 Million From Microtransactions In First 5 Months

More Pokemon Sword And Shield Freebies Available For A Limited Time
Pokemon Sword and Shield players can claim another in-game freebie for a limited time. As a reward for defeating a ton of Gigantamax Pikachu during the games' recent Max Raid event , The Pokemon Company is distributing a bundle of free Armorite and Dynite Ore. These items are normally hard to get in Sword and Shield, so you won't want to miss your chance to grab this free bundle. The overarching goal of the event was to defeat 1 million Pikachu. If players could collectively hit that total, The Pokemon Company promised to give away 100 Armorite Ore and 100 Dynite Ore. Unfortunately, players fell a little short; only 874,808 Pikachu were ultimately defeated during the event. Although the goal wasn't met, The Pokemon Company is still distributing 87 of each ore to all players as a reward. To claim the free items, simply open the Mystery Gift menu and select the Receive via Internet option. The free ore will be available until 11:59 PM UTC on March 14, so you'll need to claim it … [Read more...] about More Pokemon Sword And Shield Freebies Available For A Limited Time

Blizzard is working on “new game types” after Diablo 2 Resurrected
Diablo 2 Resurrected is likely to be Blizzard's last remastered game for quite some time, as the studio says that it's shifting focus to "new games" and "new game types." "It's worth pointing out we're now pretty much out of things to remaster," Blizzard senior vice president Allen Adham told CNET . "So going forward, you can expect to see some new stuff." If you want to get technical, Blizzard hasn't remastered all of its old games. According to Bloomberg, Blizzard recently dismantled its "Classic Games" division responsible for StarCraft: Remastered and Warcraft 3: Reforged, but we've yet to see proper remasters of the original Diablo or Warcraft 2. And for the time being, it sounds like it'll stay that way. "But just to be crystal clear, our development pipeline today is as rich as it's ever been. And we have new teams working on new games, new game types," Adham continued. Blizzard had been teasing multiple remasters leading up to BlizzCon 2021, where it revealed … [Read more...] about Blizzard is working on “new game types” after Diablo 2 Resurrected
