Ubisoft has finally given us a substantial look at Rainbow Six Siege Hereford Base rework, showcasing the renovations that will come to the map alongside Operation Grim Sky. It’s pretty much a whole new map this time around – unlike the previous major map changes we’ve seen this goes beyond a remodel into a full on remake. The trailer just gives us a context-free flythrough, but there’s plenty to glean. In its third year of post-launch support, Rainbow Six Siege continues to defy expectations as its popularity and player base have broken new milestones. Following on the heels of Operation Chimera, Ubisoft has revealed that the second season of content in year 3 is going to focus on Italy and its famed Gruppo di Intervento Speciale unit. While Operation Para Bellum won’t have a new co-op mode to replace the zombie-inspired content from the previous season, Para Bellum adds two new Italian Operators as well as a map based in a beautiful villa. Rainbow Six Siege has always had a mid-season reinforcements patch to shake up the meta and deliver vital balance changes between each new major Rainbow Six Siege update. This weekend saw the world's best Rainbow Six Siege players battle it out in the game's 2018 Invitational tournament - and Ubisoft was on hand to detail what was next for the game. Lots of people play Siege. Rainbow Six Siege has, if you've not already heard, quietly become one of Ubisoft's biggest games. This weekend, Ubi boasted that Siege now had 27 million players (although it's unclear how many of these come from free weekends). "We've communicated already a couple of times that our vision for the game is to bring it to 100 operators," Rainbow Six Siege brand director Alexandre Remy said at the event.
