If you’ve mastered Among Us, Eville may be your next impostor game challenge

· April 22, 2021 ·

I was introduced to Eville in the way mandated in the bylaws of impostor games: by being the first to die. On my first night staying in the quaint medieval village with Eville's developers, I crept out of my home eager to use my powers as the detective to catch a killer in the act. What I caught the killer in the act of was planting an axe in my face. I guess that makes me either a great or terrible detective depending on how you want to define success. Like Among Us, Eville is a descendant of tabletop hidden role games like Werewolf or Mafia. Evildoers in the group attempt to kill innocent players without being discovered. Meanwhile the innocent townsfolk try to deduce who the murderers are—a process which involves shouting and laughing—and vote to eliminate them. Unlike Among Us though, Eville branches off from the Werewolf family tree pretty early, retaining a lot of that complexity and then adding more of its own on top. Ye olde role call A large part of sorting out … [Read more...] about If you’ve mastered Among Us, Eville may be your next impostor game challenge

DayZ’s Big 1.12 Update Changes The Way Combat Feels

· April 20, 2021 ·

DayZ 's 1.12 update is live, and it's a big one. The new update introduces sweeping changes to both PVP and Player Vs Infected combat, making new playstyles and strategies more viable. The update includes changes to firearms, ammo, and protective gear, and even adds new weapons and items into the game. Changes have been made to the way infected act, making them both deadlier and harder to damage in close melee combat. To balance that out, they are now a little slower to react to sounds, meaning it will be easier to avoid a combat situation if you're stealthy. Infected will also lose interest if they lose a target, and will no longer attack unconscious players. Other changes will affect the way PVP combat feels, thanks to changes to weaponry and armor. A handful of new weapons have been added, including the Pioneer rifle and two new knives. Similar weapons have been differentiated so that each weapon has its own distinct advantage in combat--for example, non-automatic rifles are … [Read more...] about DayZ’s Big 1.12 Update Changes The Way Combat Feels

Resident Evil Village is apparently being sold two weeks early in Australia

· April 22, 2021 ·

Resident Evil Village has been spotted in the wild in Australia following an apparent street date break. Twitter user Kaiser499 shared images of a physical copy of the game on Twitter, and we know it's from an Australian store given its R18+ rating. This isn't the first time that the street date for a major game has been broken – Cyberpunk 2077 , for instance, was purchasable ahead of schedule – but it is one of the earliest leaks in recent memory. It seems Kaiser499 obtained their PS5 copy of Resident Evil Village today, April 22, just over two weeks ahead of the game's official release date of May 7. As is always the case with broken street dates, fans looking forward to playing the game themselves should be especially on guard against spoilers in the coming weeks since people are playing the game early. The day-one patch won't be available, but early copies often run fairly well regardless, so story details and cutscenes could very well appear online before the … [Read more...] about Resident Evil Village is apparently being sold two weeks early in Australia
