Everybody loves ray… tracing, and destinations such as Tamriel or the Continent are crying out for some RTX goodness. Graphics programmer, and long-time Nvidia collaborator, Pascal Gilcher wants to help us imagine what that brave new world would be like. We saw his ReShade solution in action earlier this month, shining up the likes of Yakuza Kiwami 2, Quake, and Batman: Arkham Knight. But now YouTuber Hodilton has published 4k videos of ultra-modded Skyrim and The Witcher 3 slathered in ReShade goodness. The results are certainly convincing – just look at the videos further down in this story. As we explained when the Yakuza video emerged, Gilcher’s ReShade Global Illumination isn’t quite the all-singing, all-dancing RTX method that’s busy melting eyes and hearts in Battlefield V or Metro Exodus, but it’s mighty impressive nonetheless. ReShade GI works by tracing rays in screen space using the depth buffer, and doesn’t take … [Read more...] about ReShade videos show Skyrim and The Witcher 3 with ray tracing

CD Projekt Red is close to releasing Cyberpunk 2077 we all hope. Until we get to that, we can’t stop appreciating the absolute gem that the Witcher 3 is. According to another leaked game listing, we might be seeing Witcher 3 on the Nintendo Switch soon. The whole rumor originally started when the Witcher 3 was listed alongside Assassin’s Creed 3 for the Nintendo Switch. Besides the port to the Switch, we did have a confirmation on an Assassin’s Creed 3 remaster. It’s not far fetched to assume a Witcher 3 port to the Switch either. Additionally, a job listing for CD Projekt Red asked for a software engineer to work on multiple platforms. Including the Nintendo Switch. Alongside this, GOG Galaxy is behind the Gwent games, including Thronebreaker. It’s safe to say that they know more about what’s getting ported than we do. Considering they specifically mentioned the Nintendo Switch in the statement, it’s safe to say that we can expect a … [Read more...] about Witcher 3 Might Be Coming To The Nintendo Switch

Google is reportedly working on a game console. The device would be part of a wider push into the videogame industry which will include indie development and a game streaming platform. Information about the console is scarce, but it could fit in with the company’s other attempts to carve out a wider space in the industry. Those have manifested over the past few years with moves towards high-end broadband provision, key hires, and discussions with major developers. At the Game Developers Conference in March, Google reps met with several major developers and publishers, reportedly looking to gauge interest in their streaming platform, code-named Yeti. Reportedly, Yeti is similar to Nvidia’s GeForce Now, allowing the platform to offload graphics rendering to remote computers, helping players with low-end machines play high-end games. Check out our list of the best PC games. Kotaku’s Jason Schreier says that in order to imagine what Yeti (which was first reported by The … [Read more...] about Google’s streaming service wants to bring you The Witcher 3 in a Chrome tab
Turn off Nvidia Hairworks and you should get 55-70FPS with a 1070, that's what I was playing with when I had a GTX 1070. To me in the Witcher 3 as long as your framerate is above 40FPS the game is perfectly playable so the answer is yes at 1440p a GTX 1070 can play the game. I played around 60 hours of the game on a GTX 1070 and I never saw the framerate drop below 50FPS, so you are all good. … [Read more...] about Can my rig run the Witcher 3 ?
