Last week, after much hype and excitement, Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 2080 graphics card was finally unleashed on the world. Today, it’s the turn of its beefed-up big brother, the RTX 2080Ti, whose release was delayed by a week for reasons lost to the bowels of Nvidia’s marketing department. As you can see from my Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080Ti review, this is hands down the best graphics card for 4K I’ve ever seen, and that’s all down to the monstrous power of Nvidia’s new Turing GPU. But how much of a leap does it represent over its immediate predecessor, Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 1080Ti? To the graphs! Much like my RTX 2080 vs GTX 1080 article, the figures you see below are based solely on each card’s raw performance. We’re still waiting for developers to patch in support for all of Turing’s best features such as DLSS (deep learning super sampling) and ray-tracing, so the numbers you’ll find here should be broadly representative of … [Read more...] about Nvidia RTX 2080Ti vs GTX 1080Ti: Clash of the 4K graphics cards
Nvidia rtx 2080 vs gtx 1080
In my Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 review last week, we discovered that Nvidia’s super duper new graphics card was about as fast as their GTX 1080Ti when paired with Intel’s Core i5-8600K CPU, representing only the teensiest bit of improvement to your overall frames per second output if you were to bung one in your PC today. That may well change once we start seeing more games take advantage of the Nvidia’s clever speed-boosting AI-driven Turing tech, but until developers get their act together and start patching in support for all of Turing’s best features, all we’ve got to go on right now is raw performance data. With this in mind, I thought I’d take a closer look at how the RTX 2080 compares to its direct predecessor, the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080. The former might not represent much of a leap past the GTX 1080’s souped up Ti cousin, but regular 1080 owners should see much better results compared to what they can do now, particularly when it comes … [Read more...] about Nvidia RTX 2080 vs GTX 1080: How much faster is Nvidia’s new graphics card?
The Nvidia RTX 2080 is available right now and the Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti will be coming out on the 27th of September. While the Nvidia RTX 2080 might seem like the new shiny thing on the GPU market right now it seems that all that glitters is not gold. We have seen the reviews and you must have seen them too. While the Nvidia RTX 2080 might seem like the best graphics card on the market right now it seems that the older GTX 1080 Ti is able to beat it in a few games and here we are going to talk about that. The hardware used for these tests include the Intel Core i7 7700K CPU, Asus Z270 Prime motherboard, 8GB of DDR4 memory, an Intel SSD and an EVGA power supply. There seems to be a difference in performance depending on the resolution and here we are going to look into the instances where the GTX 1080 Ti is able to beat the Nvidia RTX 2080. Nvidia RTX 2080 Vs GTX 1080 Ti At 4K The GTX 1080 Ti has a slight edge over the new card in titles like Witcher 3 and PUBG at 4K. What you need … [Read more...] about Nvidia RTX 2080 Beaten By GTX 1080 Ti In AAA Games
Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 has been announced and Nvidia claims that the card is able to deliver twice the performance of the GTX 1080. Here we are going to look into 10 different games and see whether or not that is true. The new Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 features ray tracing which is something that the Pascal GPUs are not capable of but then again, GPUs are not just about lighting and reflections, the fans need to know what the performance in terms of FPS is. These are official numbers from Nvidia so you will need to take these with a grain of salt but what we do know for sure is that these numbers concern the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 and have been benchmarked at 4K resolution. The games that we are going to look into are as follows: Final Fantasy XV Hitman Call of Duty: WW2 Mass Effect: Andromeda Star Wars: Battlefront 2 Resident Evil 7 F1 2017 Destiny 2 Battlefield 1 Far Cry 5 Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Gaming Benchmarks In some games, we do see that the Nvidia GeForce RTX … [Read more...] about Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 vs GTX 1080 Gaming Benchmarks: 10 Games Compared At 4K
In a move that really should have happened on Monday, Nvidia have finally released some figures regarding how much better their new Turing RTX 2080 card is compared to their current big frame hitter, the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080. Some, meaning a handful of very specific numbers for only a select number of games, at 4K, 60Hz, with no mention of graphics quality. Still! Numbers! And some pretty decent-ish ones too, considering the rather nebulous circumstances. Let’s take a look. RTX 2080 vs GTX 1080: performance Of course, without knowing what kind of graphics settings Nvidia used to obtain these figures, the following numbers and stats obviously only paint a very small picture of what the RTX 2080 is truly capable of. Full judgement will have to be reserved until review samples are available, but in the ten games Nvidia did talk about, you can probably expect to see roughly 1.5x the performance of a GTX 1080. That’s across Epic’s uber demanding Unreal Engine 4 … [Read more...] about Nvidia RTX 2080 will deliver 2x performance of the GTX 1080, with a catch
