As you may have seen in my Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 review yesterday, Nvidia’s latest graphics card is really quite powerful. Despite being around £100 / $100 more expensive than its immediate predecessor, the GTX 1060, the boost in speed you get from the RTX 2060 is absolutely worth it in my books, especially if you’re looking for a capable 2560×1440 card that can do pretty much everything at max settings without breaking a sweat. And to show you just how nippy it is, I’ve gone and made some nice, lovely graphs for you. To see how each card stacks up, I’ve put them through pretty much every game I currently use as part of my general benchmarking suite along with my trusty Intel Core i5-8600K CPU and 16GB of RAM. That includes Final Fantasy XV, Monster Hunter: World, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Total War: Warhammer II, Forza Horizon 4 and The Witcher III. I’ve also tested them at both 1920×1080 and … [Read more...] about GTX 1060 vs RTX 2060: How much faster is Nvidia’s next-gen GPU?

Gamers are waiting for the next-gen Nvidia GPU, GTX 1180, but the company has its lips sealed when it comes to its reveal. However, a report has made its way on the internet suggesting that Nvidia will roll out its next-gen Nvidia GTX 1180 in August 2018. The report comes from Tweaktown, who spoke with various Nvidia AIB partners at Computex 2018 and asked them about the next-gen Nvidia GPUs. According to the site, the AIB partners have noted that the next-gen Nvidia GTX 1180 will roll out either in August 2018 or September 2018. Not only that, the report suggests that the next-gen Nvidia GTX 1180 will be expensive compared to GTX 1080Ti. Furthermore, the report suggests that the next-gen Nvidia GPU might not be called GTX 1180 and will use different numbers. The reason why would GTX 1180 be expensive is because if its cheaper compared to GTX 1080 Ti then no one would but the 1080 Ti given that it will be faster and will feature a new architecture. However, this falls in line with … [Read more...] about Report: Next-Gen Nvidia GTX 1180 To Release In August 2018, Will Be Priced Between $999 to $1499
Nvidia is now expected to talk about its next-generation GeForce graphics cards in the latter half of August, finally putting to rest all the rumors and speculation, according to a program outline for the upcoming Hot Chips 2018 conference. This is the first bit of concrete news to surface on Nvidia's upcoming GPU plans, though there are still many questions to be answered. According to the schedule that Hot Chips posted, Nvidia's Stuart Oberman is on tap to discuss Nvidia's "next-generation mainstream GPU" at 11:30 AM on August 20.Here's a look:It's a vague entry, though it at least narrows the field down to mainstream GPUs, rather than what Nvidia might be cooking up for workstation and high performance computing (HPC) markets.Previously it was rumored that Nvidia might launch a next-gen gaming card in July, with an announcement potentially coming next month. That's still possible, as Nvidia could still discuss details about its next-gen GPU at Hot Chips even if it already launched, … [Read more...] about Nvidia is scheduled to discuss its next-gen GeForce GPUs on August 20
AMD have outlined their CPU and GPU process node roadmap for upcoming architectures, and if all goes to plan over at GlobalFoundries, partially EUV processed chips may be in your rig by 2020. Get some 12nm tech in your rig with the best AMD CPUs for gaming. AMD started the week with the launch of their Ryzen Pro processors and APUs for businesses, and all that interesting corporate stuff, but it was also accompanied with some tasty morsels of information regarding their powerhouse Threadripper 2 chips. These are sampling already, but are only expected on the shelves sometime in Q3. We’ll likely hear more from team red on the matter at Computex in June. But what’s also very interesting is the confirmation from AMD regarding their future product roadmaps in terms of both CPU and GPU advancement. First up, following Zen+, which features at the core of AMD’s Ryzen 2 chips, we’ve got Zen 2 and Zen 3 in the CPU space. Zen 2 is expected sometime in 2019, and … [Read more...] about AMD confirms 7nm+ Zen CPUs and next-gen graphics cards by 2020
