Freesync is a feature that is exclusive to AMD GPUs that allows for the GPU to display variable FPS without any screen tearing. However, Nvidia GPUs aren’t capable of running this feature but here is how you can trick Nvidia GPU into supporting AMD Freesync. Nvidia’s Pascal(GTX 10 series) and Maxwell(GTX 900 series) are more than capable of running the AMD Freesycn. However, given that it is AMD’s proprietary tech, it is not supported for Nvidia GPUs. Here is how you can trick a Nvidia GPU to support AMD Freesync. The method to have a Nvidia GPU to support Freesync is very simple and only requires to switch your rendering GPU. How Trick Nvidia GPU To Support AMD Freesync As discovered by Reddit user bryf50, users can change the rendering GPU on the fly without having to physically connect the display to the GPU. However, this only works for the latest World Of Warcraft expansion, Battle For Azeroth. For this trick to work you need to start the game on AMD GPU using … [Read more...] about Trick Your Nvidia GPU To Support AMD FreeSync, Here is How!
Nvidia has been dominating the GPU market for years and it is showing no signs of slowing down. However, there is one point where Nvidia GPU performance does slow down and it is when they render games with HDR enabled according to tests. ComputerBase recently did tests for AMD and Nvidia GPUs to see how much of a performance impact the GPUs suffer when HDR is enabled in games. Before going into details, the report suggests that Nvidia GPU performance saw over 10% drop with HDR enabled but, AMD GPUs do not suffer as much as Nvidia GPUs. ComputerBase used GTX 1080 and RX Vega 64 for the purpose of testing the performance impact of HDR on GPU’s performance. The GTX 1080 was tested on 12 games and the tests reveal that the Nvidia GPU performs worse for 10 of the games with HDR enabled. PreviousNext The most noticeable drop was recorded for the Destiny 2 with HDR enabled as the GTX 1080 saw a 20% drop in performance. As for the AMD’s RX Vega 64, it didn’t suffer as much as … [Read more...] about Nvidia GPU Performance Drops 10% On Average With HDR Enabled But Not With AMD GPUs
Cryptocurrency craze has been significantly reduced and with it, GPU prices came down due to a flood of second-hand GPUs in the market. Now a new report has come is suggesting that Nvidia and AMD GPU prices have dropped an additional 18%. This is according to 3dcenter, who revealed that GPU prices have gone down an additional 18% with the cryptocurrency craze fading away. Reportedly, the GPU prices dropped between 8% and 18% depending on the GPU. The price drop for GPUs started to show in the first week of July. The Radeon RX 570 4GB saw the 18% price drop while the price drop for Nvidia GPUs was relatively low. From a point of view of a customer, this price drop is a good thing as there is also an abundance of 2nd-hand GPUs in the market. However, this could potentially lead to delays for next-gen Nvidia and AMD GPUs as both will be trying to clear out their previous stock before launching the new one. This falls in line with the previous report that 300,000 Nvidia GPUs were returned … [Read more...] about Report: AMD And Nvidia GPU Prices Reportedly Cut By Additional 18%
Nvidia has been very tight-lipped about is next-gen GPUs and rumors have been making rounds on the internet suggesting that Nvidia will roll out its next-gen GPUs around September 2018. However, before Nvidia gets to officially revealed the next-gen Nvidia GTX 1180, PCB for the next-gen Nvidia GPU has leaked online. The PCB for the next-gen Nvidia GPU has been leaked by the Reddit user, dustinbrooks, who claims that a friend of his works for a company that tests PCBs for Nvidia GPUs and also posted an image of a PCB which he claims is the PCB for the next-gen Nvidia GPUs. The key takeaway from the leaked next-gen Nvidia GPU PCB is that it features: Three 8-pin power connectors 12 GB of VRAM(GDDR6) 2nd-gen NVLINK connector 384-bit memory bus interface As for the 12 GB of VRAM being used for the alleged next-gen Nvidia GPU PCB, it doesn’t specifically say it is GDDR6 but, given that GDDR6 has entered mass production it is almost confirmed that next-gen GPUs from both AMD and … [Read more...] about Next-Gen Nvidia GPU “GTX 1180” PCB Leaked, Features 12 GB GDDR6 VRAM, NVLINK, 384-Bit Memory Bus
Nvidia has its lips sealed when it comes to its next-gen GTX 1180 or GTX 2080 GPUs as Nvidia is yet to reveal them along with announcing their release window, however, a report has made its way on the internet suggesting that Next-Gen Nvidia GPUs, presumably GTX 1180 or GTX 2080, are coming in July. This is according to Tomshardware, who claims that industry sources have revealed it to them that next-gen Nvidia GPUs will be available in July 2018. The sources, however, have chosen to remain anonymous so take it with a grain of salt. While it is just a rumor but this falls in line with SK Hynix’s plans to mass produce GDDR6 in June and this particular memory will be featured in the next-gen Nvidia GPUs which presumably will either be GTX 1180 or GTX 2080. If the mass production starts in June and considering that SK Hynix is going to be the main supplier for the GDDR6 memory then we can expect the Nvidia GTX 11 Series or GTX 20 series GPUs to drop in July 2018. However, there is a … [Read more...] about Report: Next-Gen Nvidia GPU “GTX 1180” To Arrive In July 2018
