E3 2018 got its unofficial kickoff today with the EA Play presentation, where the publisher finally unwrapped the future of one of its Star Wars projects. Although there wasn't any footage, Respawn Entertainment's Vince Zampella was able to offer a few details on the new game in production at his studio.Respawn's new Star Wars game is titled Jedi Fallen Order. It will be set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, during a period of time when the galaxy was plagued by darkness and the Jedi were being hunted. There are few details on who the protagonist is, but the player's character is a surviving Padawan who will be able to use a lightsaber. The game is scheduled for release during the holiday season in 2019.Late last year EA shut down Visceral Games and said it would be revamping the single-player Star Wars game it was working on. EA’s next Star Wars game is currently under development at EA Vancouver. The project was taken over by the studio after the closure of Visceral Games. It was a sad day to see one of the most talented teams of developers without a job. But as the game goes, it is still under development but EA shifting its focus from single to multiplayer. When announced the change many assumed that the game will completely push out Single Player narrative but it seems that is not entirely accurate. Respawn is making quite a powerful team of developers and crew for their upcoming projects. Apart from a new Titanfall title, the studio is working on a Star Wars Video Game which now has a new producer, Bioware’s Blair Brown. After spending six full years with BioWare and claimed to be one of the company’s veteran producers, Blair leaves his former job to join the team of Respawn Entertainment for a new Star Wars Video Game. Through a post on his Twitter page, Blair showed his excitement about his new project, not forgetting all his previous work though. It is no secret that Visceral’s Star Wars game is no longer in development as a story-driven project. But it seems it is now an open world Star Wars game featuring online elements and a live service-based model. The studio behind it, Visceral, is no longer active as it has been shut down. As for the game, the project is still kicking but is being reshaped by EA. According to a recent job posting, EA is looking for an online engineer, possibly to reshape its upcoming Star Wars game and implement live services model.
