Fall Guys is finally heading to Xbox and Nintendo Switch and the game is adopting a free-to-play business model. Following a delay, developer Mediatonic has announced that the whimsical battle royale game will arrive on the new platforms June 21, which is also when the game goes free. There will be full cross-play and cross-progression supported (across Xbox and Switch, as well as PS4 and PS5, which is also adopting a free business model in June), thanks to the game using Epic's Online Services functionality--Epic owns Mediatonic and the Fall Guys property. A new Fall Guys season is also launching on June 21, and it promises to be the "most jam-packed and blunderful season yet," Mediatonic said. Players can expect "stacks of new challenges and rewards," as well as "major updates" to the game's progression systems. What's more, Mediatonic is launching a new in-game currency called Show-Bucks with the new season launch. Kingdom Hearts 4 Director Explains The Game’s More Realistic Design
Kingdom Hearts IV looks set to introduce a few graphical changes to the long-running series, which includes a more mature look for protagonist Sora and other updated visual tweaks. In a new interview with Famitsu that was translated by VGC , series creator Tetsuya Nomura spoke about these changes and the world of Quadratum, which serves as an afterlife of sorts. "From Sora's perspective, Quadratum is an underworld, a fictional world that is different from reality, Nomura said. "But from the point of view of the inhabitants on the Quadratum side, the world of Quadratum is reality, and the world where Sora and the others were is the other side, the fictional world." Nomura added that Goofy and Donald Duck are searching for Sora in Kingdom Hearts IV , and if he were to return to his original reality, he'd start to resemble his more cartoonish design again so that he could fit back into his world. Oversized shoes and all. As fans have discovered, Quadratum has been referenced … [Read more...] about Kingdom Hearts 4 Director Explains The Game’s More Realistic Design

Releasing New Lost Ark Endgame Content So Soon Was A “Mistake”
Lost Ark received its first major content update just last week , adding a new endgame activity, the Argos Abyss Raid, as well as new story content. A new blog post from Amazon and Smilegate RPG now says releasing that new content so soon after the game's launch was a mistake. "We made a mistake releasing the March game update too quickly after launch," the blog post states. "Data we analyzed alongside Smilegate RPG from their previous launches projected that a larger portion of players would have reached the level required to challenge Argos." Because the new Abyss Raid requires an item level of 1370, many players felt pressured to progress as fast as possible in order to play the new content. Since Lost Ark is a free-to-play game, players can outright purchase materials needed to upgrade gear and raise item levels with real-world money. That, combined with a shortage of Tier 3 upgrade materials that Amazon and Smilegate RPG says was the result of a rampant botting problem … [Read more...] about Releasing New Lost Ark Endgame Content So Soon Was A “Mistake”
Lost Ark Battle For The Throne Of Chaos Update Adds Battle Pass, New Class: Full Patch Notes
Lost Ark's Battle For the Throne of Chaos update arrives today, and it's the biggest update to Smilegate RPG and Amazon's free-to-play MMORPG yet, adding a new class, a battle pass, a new continent, numerous quality-of-life updates, and more. As detailed in the official patch notes , the new martial artist advanced class, the Glaivier, is the highlight. It's the first new class added to the Western version of Lost Ark since release. Wielding both a spear and a glaive, the Glaivier can swap between the two weapons with the press of a button, and each weapon has its own unique abilities and strengths. The glaive excels at clearing out huge groups of enemies, while the spear is ideal for poking down bosses. Of course, the Glaivier isn't the only new addition coming to Lost Ark as part of the Battle for the Throne of Chaos update. The new patch will also see the addition of the South Vern continent, where a demon army is amassing at the titular Throne of Chaos, which serves as a … [Read more...] about Lost Ark Battle For The Throne Of Chaos Update Adds Battle Pass, New Class: Full Patch Notes
