ROCKSTAR may be busy with Red Dead Online, but that doesn't mean it's giving up on the money-making machine that is GTA Online quite yet. Today it is launching an update that features seven new modes as part of an entirely new career. Arena War also brings a host of customisable and violent new vehicle types. GTA Online is the multiplayer portion of GTA V, and sees players across the fictional world of Los Santos try and build up businesses -- both above board and not -- and wreak havoc. In Arena War, "ruthless gladiatorial combat meets the bleeding-edge of vehicular modification technology in one spectacular – and highly combustible – competition", according to Rockstar. A teaser picture for the update shows a motorbike armed with miniguns, a sports car that seems to have anti-aircraft cannon, and a big rig armed with machine guns, which gives you something of an idea of the level of Mad Max style silliness to expect when the update drops later on. Total War: Arena shuts down in February 2019.The free-to-play take on Creative Assembly's Total War series, which was published with World of Tanks maker Wargaming, closed because its open beta test "did not meet all our expectations", Creative Assembly's Joshua Williams said in a post on the Total War website. "Unfortunately, during the open beta, the game didn't meet the expectations either Wargaming or Creative Assembly had for the title, and it was decided to bring development to an end," reads the statement.Creative Assembly didn't state it outright, but it sounds like the game failed to attract enough players to justify launching it proper."I would like to take a moment to thank the Arena team, who have poured their heart and soul into this game's development and are just as disappointed by this as you," Williams said.It doesn't sound like there will be layoffs at Creative Assembly, either. There’s no denying in my mind that MOBA’s, or multiplayer online battle arenas, brought competitive eSports into the general public’s eye. Now, Nintendo Switch is seeing the first title in the genre, Arena of Valor, make its way onto the platform. With some minor tweaks to controls, Arena of Valor is ideal on the Nintendo Switch when compared to its mobile counterpart, just don’t expect it to cure your League of Legends or Dota 2 addiction. I would consider myself a competent MOBA player, but nowhere near the professional level. Dota 2 remains my most played game on Steam with 1600 hours, so I was eager to give this game a try on Switch. Firstly, because I’ve never played a MOBA on a console from an overhead perspective. CALL of Duty is officially set to return with Black Ops 4 in October this year -- and it will feature the series' traditional multiplayer modes, multiple Zombie modes and a Battle Royal mode called Blackout. One of the world's biggest game publisher and developer will be making its debut appearance at E3 2018. Tencent owns League of Legends developer Riot Games, as well as developing the mobile version of PUBG and other highly-successful mobile games like Arena of Valor and Clash of Clans. It will be hosting its Arena of Valor playoffs at the E3 ESL Arena on June 12th and 13th, 2018. The Arena of Valor playoffs is part of the ongoing Valor Series eSports tournament, which will see best North American and European teams competing with each other. The winners of the playoffs will make it to the upcoming Arena of Valor World Cup, which takes places in Los Angeles in July. The prize money for the tournament is worth $550,000.
