One of the surprises of this year’s E3 was the lack of info on NetherRealm’s next fighting game. We’ve seen the studio switch between Injustice and Mortal Kombat for almost the past decade, and, if the pattern continues, it’s Mortal Kombat 11‘s turn to shine. Well, if a Spanish voice actor is telling the truth, we may be seeing more Fatalities sooner rather than later. Taking to Twitter, Lalo Garza spoke about his ousting from the new Mortal Kombat project. Garza is allegedly the voice behind Kung Lao and Reptile in recent Spanish language versions of the Mortal Kombat games. He mentions Pink Noise Studios, which is the company that localizes the games for Spanish markets. Once the tweet got some traction, Garza returned to Twitter to try to clarify his previous statement. Garza’s tweet translates to him saying that he doesn’t know if the game is “MKXI, MK10.5, MKXYZ or whatever.” He … [Read more...] about Voice Actor Reveals That Mortal Kombat 11 Is Inevitable

Taking into consideration the recent release patterns in the fighting franchise, Mortal Kombat 11 should be seeing the light of day sometime next year. The only thing is that NetherRealm Studios is yet to drop the official word and has assured fans that everyone involved is working hard on the next project. While a teaser trailer is being awaited, why not use the time to look back at previous installments and craft a wishlist for characters to return? These are faces that were introduced fairly early in the series, with backstories that were more or less left untouched down the road. NetherRealm Studios has already proven with Mortal Kombat X that it does not shy away from introducing new characters. On that note, there is hope that the developer will consider bringing back some old names with Mortal Kombat 11 as well. Fujin Fujin was one of the guardians of Shinnok and made his first appearance in Mortal Kombat 4 when the fallen god escaped his prison. He is one of the few … [Read more...] about Five Forgotten Characters Mortal Kombat 11 Needs to Bring Back
The time for a new fighting installment to release from NetherRealm Studios draws near. Whether it is going to be a new Mortal Kombat or not remains to be seen but suffice to say, it would be very surprising if it was something else. Taking to Twitter earlier today, creative director Ed Boon stated that the studio is “working very hard” on its next project. He shared an image of two actors in motion-capture suits taking fighting stances, with a simulation running on a screen in the back and a third person providing directions. Boon further added that development is still ongoing and there is nothing more to divulge right now. The fact is that NetherRealm Studios has been relatively quiet as of late. It skipped out on making any announcements at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3 2018) and the Evolution Championship Series (EVO 2018) in the past few months. Whatever the developer is cooking behind closed doors appears to be more ambitious than the usual installments. … [Read more...] about NetherRealm Studios Teases New Game in the Works — Mortal Kombat 11?
E3 2018 was quite generous. We got our first peek at Cyberpunk 2077 , a few too many peeks at Kingdom Hearts 3 , and plenty of peeks at the Final Fantasy 7 Remake not enough peeks at Death Stranding . But E3 2018 also kept some secrets. Mortal Kombat 11 was one of those secrets, joining the list of absentee games along with the rumored Splinter Cell title and whatever Rocksteady is working on. Out of all the rumored games leading up to the show, Mortal Kombat 11 seemed like the safest bet; a safe bet that never showed up. And while MK11 ’s presence was missed, ghosting the show was a good decision. Mortal Kombat 11: Krushing the Cycle Part of why it felt why Mortal Kombat 11 had to be at E3 was developer NetherRealm Studios’ cycle. They usually announce their game just before E3 then release it in the next April or May. Mortal Kombat 9 ’s June 2010 announcement started this trend that both Injustice games and Mortal … [Read more...] about Why it’s Good That Mortal Kombat 11 Wasn’t at E3
NetherRealm Studios is known for developing Mortal Kombat and Injustice franchise, both of which are excellent fighting games in their own right. However, Injustice 2 launched last year and It seems that the studio is working on Mortal Kombat 11 title as Ed Boon has potentially teased a new game in the franchise. The tease comes from Ed Boo’s official Twitter account where a fan said: “It would be so cool if injustice 2 will get fighter pack 4 this year 2018”. To this Ed Boon replied that “You know what ELSE would be kool…..?”. For those who don’t know, spelling words with K instead of C is a running gag among the Mortal Kombat community and have been since the franchise came into existence and we believe that either Ed Boon is teasing new Mortal Kombat 11 or just making a pun. However, given that this is not official at all, take it with a grain of salt but, it would not be surprising if the studio is actually working on a new title.
