Fans are speculating that a line of text in the recently released Mega Man X Legacy Collection soundtrack may be teasing a new Mega Man game.The new Mega Man X Legacy Collection soundtracks have already shipped in Japan. Within the accompanying booklet, the final panel of the game's story summary has the single line: "The story of X's fight is not yet over." So far, so what, right? Thing is - as fan site Rockman Corner reminds us - Capcom have priors for this kind of thing. The publisher did a similar sneaky trick when it released the 20th anniversary book, and the innocuous line "the legend is not yet complete" was later found to be confirmation of Mega Man 9.And that's not all. According to the company, Mega Man fans will find the core, classic game mechanics in place, but this time out, swapping between powers is easier thanks to the addition of a weapon wheel. There’s also a Double Gear system in Mega Man 11 which adds a “unique new twist” with options to enhance Mega Man’s speed and power at any time. Mere months after Capcom announced a new Mega Man game to be coming this year, they’ve once again struck by announcing a Mega Man X Legacy collection, putting together a compilation of the subseries called Mega Man X. These games take place in an alternate continuity separate from the main games. Previously announced a few months ago, In the Mega Man X universe, Earth is embroiled in conflict between regular humans and the robots that serve them, and a race of advanced robots known as Reploids. Many of the Mega Man X games revolve around fighting groups of Reploids, and players will be able to experience the whole adventure with both of the Legacy Collections. Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 and 2 will be released on PC and consoles this summer. The collections feature all eight Mega Man X titles. As part of Mega Man’s 30th anniversary celebration, Capcom will release all eight Mega Man X games on PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One. Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 contains Mega Man X 1-6, and Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 features Mega Man 5-8. The collections feature a new X Challenge mode which pits players against boss characters from the eight titles. These bosses will team up together against the player. Both collections feature optional smoothing and CRT filters, or they can be played in original resolution. Players can switch to full screen while preserving the aspect ratio, or switch to widescreen mode. The 3D models of Mega Man X7 and X8 will feature improved visuals for modern consoles. Which implies that the game may possibly be Split into two halves and may get released separately as well.
